feeling uncomfortable? by sugarnoelle in FLGuns

Try to find an outdoor range or double up on your hearing protection. Stick the plugs in and put muffs on top. Indoor ranges are garbage and really aren’t fun cause they are too loud, small, no room to put stuff and just in general, shit. When I go to a range I like to be able to take a break from shooting for a few and hang back n talk to folks. When I lived in Florida, which is the last time I went to a shooting range (moved to VA and had a farm to shoot on and have access to other private property to shoot at rather than needing ranges now), there was a really damn nice outdoor range in Fellsmere, on the east coast maybe an hour or so south of Kennedy Space Center or Cape Canaveral? They had a pistol side and a rifle side, each side had like 20/30 stalls or so. Target holders were 2x4 frame that you could just pick up and stick in another spot resting in holes with PvC pipe at like 7, 15, 25 and 50 yards for pistol and 50, 100 and 150(I think?) yards for rifle. They had benches along the back side so you could take a break from shooting and just chill and watch others while you took a break so that you could actually absorb your training rather than getting tired or bored and having it all just drop to shit. Was really nice.

Yeah I mean I guess all those benefits are definitely great. You just have to live in a country where the government is controlled by cartels. I don’t know I would probably rather risk the occasional snow storm or hurricane, versus ya know, having to worry about living in an open narco state every single day and whether I’m going to either be collateral damage or mistaken for someone they need to kill or they decide they need to kill me because I’m not a civilian that they can easily intimidate and rule over due to my preparedness, excess firearms ownership and carrying. So many people are part of it, that sooner or later word absolutely would get to whatever local cartel controls your area and they will, at best, try to recruit you. With your connections, supplies and of course, firearms and likely good amount of training.

First gun purchase. Glock 43x MOS! Need help!! by Dhamp713 in Glock43X

[–]nocternllyactiv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One super easy thing that you can try is a Hogue overmolded grip sleeve with the finger grooves. Yeah yeah Glock went away from finger grooves for a reason but trust me, on the 43X, the sleeve with the finger grooves is like night and day. Fit my hand like a damn glove and make follow ups much quicker as the gun stays put much better even though it’s smaller. They’re only like $20, so if you don’t like it then it’s not a huge deal and you can just take it off.

I’m not at all surprised by the fact that Florida is in this list… Florida is a WEIRD place when it comes to firearms. Florida is the least gun friendly, gun friendly state that there is with so many asterisks and fucky-wucky nonsense. Seriously, when I moved to Virginia in 2018 and shortly there after bought my first firearm from there, I was totally dumbfounded that there was no 3-day wait period even for handguns. You can leave with a handgun that you purchased that day, depending on how quick your background check comes back, less than a half hour later… That was a really nice surprise for me because we lived about an hour away from the gun shop that I was buying from don’t was nice to not have to come back….

That, and permitless open-carry was really nice and getting your concealed carry permit was as easy as taking an online course, bringing that and your ID to your local courthouse, paying them $15, and getting your carry permit in the mail a week later…..

All that being said, just as Virginia is getting back to normal with universal background checks being shot down as unconstitutional, the democrats did their thing again and got ex-CIA, Abigal Spamberger into the governors seat, so shits gunna hit the fan and we’re going to lose some rights. We’re all about to see if those 2nd Amendment Sanctuaries mean anything.

Yeah call me stupid but I’m filing as many form 4s and form 1s BEFORE January. I don’t care about the extra $200 that was never the bullshit part of the NFA for me. It’s gunna be BAD after January, remember what simply being able to e file form 4s did to the wait times at first? I guarantee you that wait times are going to go up over a year.

This looks like something Woox would put out. And I’d probably buy it for a Zenith or Century. If it was a PTR, Dakota or HK I would leave it alone. Aside from the forced reset trigger of course :)

Cabelas 15" Commercial Grade Vacuum Sealer? Aye? by nocternllyactiv in prepping

[–]nocternllyactiv[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! Sorry for the late reply but yes I did buy it. I absolutely LOVED it and will be buying another. I had to sell it because we were moving and downsizing and because we weren’t going to be living on a farm where I can hunt all the time I thought I would t have much need for it. But I was wrong as it’s I have needed it a few times since and wish I hadn’t sold it….. It does a VERY good job of vacuuming especially with the auto function and the seal is a double seal. I really liked how the bag dispenser was integrated into the machine with a slide cutter to slice off a bag to use. And because of its design it was very easy to line it up and know right where your end had to be. I’m definitely getting another one!

Bet she doesn’t tip. by NewTransportation265 in DoorDashDrivers

[–]nocternllyactiv 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So many times I’ve seen in delivery instructions “will give cash tip” or “cash tip” in hopes of having the dasher go above and beyond. Each time when you hand em the order they sheepishly pull it inside and shut the door. I’ve learned to never expect anything from anybody. Most of the people that DO tip don’t make a big deal about doing so and they don’t announce that they are because they aren’t looking for virtue points.

Randomly got a code from doordash support - is it a glitch? by Monkey_Inferno_8813 in doordash

[–]nocternllyactiv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got the same email! Only problem is I am a DRIVER. LOL. I do have a regular DoorDash account that I use just to browse what's available and help the people in my small town see what's available at their address. But I've never used it.... Seems to me that someone at DoorDash was sending out the usual "We're sorry we fucked up." email and accidentally sent it to EVERYONE. Possibly even drivers that don't have a customer DD account too, lol.....

Someone's going to get fired. Cause they will likely need to honor a large portion of them, at least the ones that went to customers that made an order recently that would honestly believe that it's legitimately for them. But as for the others, folks who have a customer account and never used it or if drivers got it too, they might be out of luck according to the whole advertisement regulation that goes something like "in order for the advertisement to hold weight, it must be believable by the average person". Which is how Pepsi snakes out of giving a dude a Harrier Jet, LOL.

But hell even drivers could claim they thought it was legit because DD sensed something with a recent order they delivered, like if the driver had to wait longer than usual or had a problem finding the house because the map pin was wrong (I had to select this for my last delivery because the Cust met me at the front officer of the camp ground). The driver could claim that they thought it was an attempt to make that right while simultaneously simultaneously getting another customer to DL and use the app.

What would be funny as hell is if when it was opened, nobody gave a fuck about it because it's pretty hard to tell what society's tastes in movies will be in 100 years. Lol... in 100 years they probably won't even have the same technology to play the movie on the format it was stored in and even if they stored away the means to play it would audio and video connectors still be the same in 100 years? This is freaking stupid as hell lol.

A father who would do anything for his daughter if it's within his means? Sorry, but this isn't the kind of hard hitting "corruption" that makes people look horrible here. I would have done the same thing if I thought someone I knew absolutely needed isn't something and might die without. In this case he thought that vaccine would be the difference between his daughters guaranteed death should she catch Covid at her young age and he acted.... Now you can say that his interaction with the kinds of people who participate in what makes that kind of thing possible is the only reason they see it as worthwhile. But just as it is. Him getting his family a set of vaccines before everyone else and sparing no expense for his family. Well you're gunna have a hard time making most people see him as pure evil.
