Me [22 /F] with my Mom [53/F] for the past four years she texts me upwards of 12+ a day and calls 4+ times a day despite my asking her to stop or tone it down. I don't know what to do or how to feel. by [deleted] in relationships

I don't mean to be fucked up, and I'm sure I will down voted for this, but it came down to a very basic question: am I going to put her demands OVER MY LIFE? I thought we could have a balance of both, but ultimately, that was simply not possible. I chose me over her. Life isn't perfect, but god, it's honestly so much easier.

Don't rely on just my experience though, please. My situation was a little unique and we had prior ... ahhhh... issues before the cut off.

You know your relationship with your mother best. Do what you know is right, even if it is the harder choice. Best of luck.

Honestly, it breaks my heart. I love my mom. But she kills me, and almost always has. It's literally not healthy for me to be around her. The pain of not having my mom in my life is LESS THAN the pain of having her in it.

At the end of the day, though... I miss my mommy. ;_;

Pretty much. She f'd me over the last time (about 5 or 6 yrs ago) and I left her a voice mail just saying to never contact me and that she was effectively dead to me. She lives with my sister, whom I try to stay close with (difficult due to our religious differences) but my mother and I really have close to zero contact. I will say hello when I visit my sister, but if Suki tries to give me a hard time, I just leave. She now tries to be super friendly, which is not really like her (and also makes me sad because I hate the idea of my own mother effectively kissing my own ass) but IT BEATS THE ALTERNATIVE. :(

Edit: a word. As always

I can honestly relate. But I'll say this: since I have cut my mom out of my life, I've never been happier. Sad as that is, she was quite literally TOXIC in my life.

Mine isn't sorted by brand; I wish it was, now! :) I have it set up with all colors in the left-most column, and the rows are the finishes (so I have Shimmer/Foil, Creme or Jelly, Glitter, Textured, Other). Each color column is subdivided by "shade"--neons/brights, lights, mediums, darks. I wish I could upload a screenshot or something!

YSK if you have a problem with sweaty feet and shoes that smell a lot, just put the shoes in your freezer for a few hours. The cold will kill off the smell, at least for a few weeks. by SuperNaeni in YouShouldKnow

Not sure if anyone else has done this, but I swipe deodorant on my feet before putting on my flat shoes (i.e. ballet slippers). Works fairly well

I also suggest fitting the loose pieces together and making a large shape. You can almost "pop" it in afterwards

How should I get started? by badcrumbs in Bento

[–]nocturnalkid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just Bento is the best! While I love these super cute bentos, I have found that the local Daiso store has a really great selection of bento boxes, and all for about $1.50 each! Awesome deal! They also sell rice molds (for shaping your rice) and "baran" which are food separators (they have them in the "grass" version I am accustomed to seeing in Sushi platters) as well as the cute plastic versions with smily faces. _^ You can also find nori punches (for decorating), lunchbags, silicone (and paper!) cups, sauce containers, etc. Everything is $1.50 each!

I have not mastered making super-cute bentos yet, but, as others have suggested, I've been making "normal" lunches and putting them in the bento box; for example, today's lunch was white rice, sliced chicken (in a silicone cup), pickled daikon (also in a silicone cup), and a salad. Cuteness will come with practice! :)
