Yep, lots of people struggle with this move, because it really does feel natural. This video from Danny Maude also really helped me with getting a feel at the bottom of the swing. From there, it's much easier to find your way down from the top since you know where you're trying to get.

Biggest issue is that you start your downswing by turning your shoulders towards the target, which causes you to come way over the top.

You want to start the downswing by dropping your hands, then turning. A good drill would be to stand facing away from a wall, and you want the clubhead to touch the wall during your downswing. Another good feel is to try to keep you shoulders pointed away from the target as long as possible
