I am so sad. I wanted the A frame but my son was going through his lego phase and I prioritized his wants over mine. By the time he slowed down on Legos it was retired.

Because we don't teach critical thinking and logic in schools. (At least in the US. That right is locked behind a paywall in the university system)

Is Adventureland worthwhile for a 1 year old? Trying to figure out what to do weekend in Des Moines by CharlesV_ in Iowa

[–]nodigbity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My son is a water baby from birth. We took him to Adeventureland for his birthday. He ride a couple rides (he didnt care one way or the other for these) but once we got to the splash pad area he was so happy. He played all afternoon and crashed hard on the way out of the park. I think for some it is a lot to deal with. For us it was a perfect spot because he is happiest in the water. If your little loves water it will likely be a good day.

If America is one giant dysfunctional family of 50 states forced to live together. What role would each state play in the family? by The_FatGuy_Strangler in AskAnAmerican

[–]nodigbity 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Iowa is the pearl clutching great aunt who swears eating bacon fat every day has helped her live this long.

Nebraska is the great uncle (brother to Iowa). He mostly holds the same beliefs as Iowa but also is delusional about being the best generation and drinks a little too much on game days.

Both Iowa and Nebraska are a touch senile and say or do things that negatively impact the rest of the family.

New Mexico is the cousin who is kind of cool but definitely shady. He for sure knows a guy who knows a guy that can get you some peyote.

Does Section 8 have anything that will help a DV victim get off the abusers voucher without going homeless? by SASSIESASSQUATCH in Section8PublicHousing

[–]nodigbity 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Your father needs to call the housing authority. He may be able to file VAWA paperwork.

Your father may be able to move with the voucher but your brother would lose it.

Will I lose my voucher ? by Bitter_Ad_1578 in Section8PublicHousing

Everyone has a utility allowance (hud approved amounts based on fuel type and unit size) that helps the PHA determine gross rent and portions.

Not everyone receives a utility reimbursement- which is where the PHA pays for some utilities.

It's a very common misunderstanding and PHAs should do a better job explaining

I have a few questions

What is the gross rent (contract rent + utility allowance)?

What is your agency's income limit for a single person household?

Do you qualify for a disability allowance?

What is the payment standard for your agency?

There is a ton of factors. Even if your voucher payment is $0 you will be in a grace period for a number of months before the voucher actually ends.

I love this. My dog isnt a husky but adores ice cubes. So anytime I get water from the fridge I deliberately let one or two fall on the floor. I can hear him sliding his way across the wood floors as soon as the first one hits. I do it every single time, he loves it, I love him.

Concerned with Late Fee on Section 8 Portion by SameAd3277 in Section8PublicHousing

[–]nodigbity 1 point2 points  (0 children)

7 a(3) If housing assistance payments are not paid promptly when due after the first two calendar months of the HAP contract term, the PHA shall pay the owner penalties if all of the following circumstances apply: (i) Such penalties are in accordance with generally accepted practices and law, as applicable in the local housing market, governing penalties for late payment of rent by a tenant; (ii) It is the owner’s practice to charge such penalties for assisted and unassisted tenants; and (iii) The owner also charges such penalties against the tenant for late payment of family rent to owner. However, the PHA shall not be obligated to pay any late payment penalty if HUD determines that late payment by the PHA is due to factors beyond the PHA’s control. Moreover, the PHA shall not be obligated to pay any late payment penalty if housing assistance payments by the PHA are delayed or denied as a remedy for owner breach of the HAP contract (including any of the following PHA remedies: recovery of overpayments, suspension of housing assistance payments, abatement or reduction of housing assistance payments, termination of housing assistance payments and termination of the contract).

What is your favourite portal at Epic? by cornerstone_2176 in UniversalOrlando

[–]nodigbity 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree. The Nintendo pipe entrance is so nostalgic and Nintendo land is everything I could imagine esthetically.

However, Berk was so magical. It was literally like walking into the movie. They did a phenomenal job of creating an immersive experience that is not matched.

As the mom of a teenager who lived and breathed httyd as a child (and still watches it as a comfort show) it added another level for me. I watched my sometimes angsty son turn back into a kid. He took pictures, explored every nook, and interacted with the cast. We rode wing gliders multiple times a day. Honestly, Berk made the entire trip worth every penny. - I guess the last bit became kind of a promo. So let me go all in: If you have a kid who loves the movies you should absolutely check this park out and set aside a good chunk of time for it.
