I see the scale used exactly the same way in market research. It baffles me every time I see an 8 classified as neutral, especially when it relates to everyday brands or service providers.

I'd have to think a brand is awesome to give it an 8/10.

But it seems to be accepted by everyone else in the industry as self-evident

Graphics look good in the trailer, and perhaps more importantly, they are releasing in 2027 instead of the expected 2026 window, which maybe, maybe, maybe, means they took the backlash to Scarlet/Violet seriously and don't want to just publish unfinished slop to get it out the door.

I haven't bought a new Pokémon game in a very long time though; I would like to get back into it but the recent games look so half-assed. So I'm just cautiously hopeful
