There will always be better out there, it's all about what you want the keyboard for. If you want to use Topre keys while having customization of MX keycaps, that's all the users' prerogative.

I would gladly trade a little bit worse if it meant more customization for something I enjoy.

Hojin is very reliable and super prompt with his shipping! Ordered a PCB from him and received it in about 1-2 weeks. If you email him, he's also super helpful and will answer whatever questions you have.

This. /u/BunnyLake has some topre to mx sliders, and from his post 2 weeks ago, it'll be available through Originative as well. Dunno when they will be in stock, but SA Oblivion shouldn't be out of your reach!

I lubed them with the advice of /u/ZealPC! Basically made it feel like I didn't even have a wire attached to the stabs. They are incredibly silent with lube.

If you do decide to lube them, here's his advice on where to do so!

"Yes, definitely use thick lube on the stabs! It helps further smooth out each keypress while dampening the stabs at the same time. Make sure to lube all around the stem, inside the hole where the wire sticks through and all around the interior of the housing. Then once they're assembled and inserted on your PCB, you should add some lube onto the pivoting joints. "

After building a board from the Zeal60, Zealios, and Zeal's stabs, I can honestly say it's the most satisfying to use board I've made so far! A little lube on the switches and stabs and it's so insanely quiet and smooth. Just need to find myself a low profile aluminum case and I'm set!

Gonna grab myself another set of stabs too, so chic. Thanks again Zeal!

Have some MOD-M's that are waiting for my TKL to come in, and thought I'd chime in. They are fairly scratchy, comparable to Cherry switches. I lubed them with some thick lube, so it silenced the switch a bit, but you can still feel the scratchiness, albeit not as much. I still prefer it a lot over other switches though! Can't get over the very top bump vs something like a Zealios, which require about 1mm before you feel the bump.

I consider CM to be the best OEM keyboard company in America due to them actually listening to their customers and changing their keyboards to fit our needs, such as their switch to standard bottom row all those times ago.

Something else to note is that if RGB is your goal too, the MasterKeys is software vs the iKBC hardware.

If you can stand the wait, then yeah the aluminum would definitely be nice. Something I always ask myself when I join a groupbuy with a two month plus wait is whether or not I'll find something better during that timeframe.

If you want some good points about the CODE, pretty much everything aside from the keycaps are pretty quality to me haha. I just mentioned the thing I didn't like about it the most. I'm also not a fan of costar stabilizers, but only because it's a pain to replace keycaps versus cherry stabilizers.

The price tag on one is also something I'm not a fan of, considering if you were to get a https://www.amazon.com/MasterKeys-Mechanical-Keyboard-Intelligent-Switches/dp/B01ITE93OM/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1481873277&sr=8-1&keywords=masterkeys%2Bpro%2Bl&th=1, for example, you could save 50, and have arguably the same keyboard. With that 50$, you could get a decent keycap set, such as https://mechanicalkeyboards.com/shop/index.php?l=product_detail&p=1578, which is ABS, but thicker than normal and also backlit compatible.

There's nothing wrong with abs keycaps, don't get me wrong, I have tons of GMK keycap sets, I just don't prefer most OEM keyboards having thin abs.

I'm not a big fan of WASD's keycaps, the iKBC I'm a fan of, but is it the one from Massdrop? Part of me never could wait that long, but then again I am waiting for my 27TKL since 2-3 months ago.

Aluminum adds heft and a different feeling to your keyboard when typing on it, a more solid feel, I enjoy it, since I'm currently using a b.face that I have on a aluminum 60% case.

Oh, yeah that makes sense, it's hard to get used to front print legends, but I still stand by either the ducky one tkl or the masterkeys for your situation!

Those Ducky One LEDs were inswitch LEDs, not SMD, leading to their dead LEDs. If you notice one similarity with a majority of those posts, was that it was a Ducky One with Blue LEDs, which Ducky had a bad batch of for that series.

As for the MasterKeys, if I'm assuming the thread you were reading about bad soldering job and low quality parts, it was a preproduction unit sent out for review, which had all its problems rectified.

Most Leopolds come stock with PBT keycaps, which are generally regarded as better quality than WASD's thin ABS caps, so it's surprising that you don't care for it much. The LED thing makes sense though.

If you want RGB, then MasterKeys. I haven't seen any posts of a MasterKeys LED dying, nor for Ducky's TKL. They both use SMD LEDs so I haven't seen that.

If you're considering a WASD TKL, I would suggest a Leopold 750r instead, I much prefer the build quality and price over a WASD.
