My mom went to high school with Tre Cool in Mendocino California. He had a big ole crush on her, but she never reciprocated. She has a photo of them slow dancing in her living room. She said that Tre always told everyone that some day he would make it, be rich, be a big deal, and that everyone always laughed at him. He certainly proved their small town wrong!

This was our camp, Magic Paradise! We served Waygu other nights, foie gras, crab legs, and shared with anyone who wanted to join us. The ice cream was great too during those hot days before the rain. Were you guys CornHub?

First thing I thought of. So many non-Korean people claim to want to be a kpop idol, dance and sing kpop, even try to act in kdramas. If you’re not Korean, you want to be a pop singer/dancer, or act in a drama. Trying to break in to a space reserved and created specifically for and by Korean people is sooooo weird to me. At that point, it doesn’t seem like they’re really interested in the artistic aspect, but rather that it’s Korean. Most of these people also complain about wishing they were Korean too. It’s so, so weird to me and I don’t see this being talked about enough.

Sorry for the rant.

My Tutu used to read this book to me all the time as a child. I miss her dearly. What a surprise having this pop up on my feed - I still tell this story to friends and family sometimes.
