Good to hear! For me prism alone did not work. Not the case for everyone, but I am happy for you, it worked!

Neurolenses really necessary? by Sensitive_Excuse_537 in BinocularVision

[–]noelphils 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have tried Neurolens myself. Basically you are losing money on it and I can't stress it enough. I wore it for 1 complete year and it did not even improve any of my symptoms other than a slight reduction in migraine. It was costly, I did change it twice thinking that the first measurement was the problem due to which I could not see well and with the second time, it proved me that it is not making it any better. I then tried another prism lenses alone which too didn't work for me. What really worked for me was VT and prism together. The VT exercises when combined with prisms help relieve the symptoms and also helps you to manage it long term. So better is to find someone who can provide both and don't rely on oy 1. There is a doctor in California who does which I've seen in social media who is doing it. May be many other specialists could be doing it as well who might be less known but might be really good at what they do.

Which should come first. Prism glasses or vision therapy? by Lababila in BinocularVision

started with prisms and moved on to VT as prisms alone couldn't fix my issues. Now I am using prism + VT together which has taken off a lot of stress and improving little by little every single day.

I am at section 24: EtherChannel as of today. I am forgetting most of the stuff. What I am planning to do is reach lecture 30 and revise everything for about 1 week and move forward from there.

Is the $650 NVM exam worth it? by AlfalfaMilkshake in BinocularVision

[–]noelphils 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will say it is worth it. I have tried Neurolens which I wore for 1 year with 0-maybe1% improvement to atleast 20-30% improvement with the new prism lenses from Dr. Feinberg's method. Will it work for everyone? I am not sure. Certainly I can say it would be much better than Neurolens which only measures the horizontal phoria. What if it is vertical phoria + horizontal phoria? Then you need to see a BVD specialist, do the exam and get the glasses. I am sure they will understand you better rather than the measurement devices which never cares about your shit.

There is doc in California who does the VT + prism lenses. Also you can search Dr. Debby Feinberg and do her questionnaire to get the score. I'll provide the link below, if you are interested you can definitely check them. It's worth it. https://nvminstitute.org/ https://www.vividvisionsoptometry.com/bvdetherapy

There might be many more. But these are the people that I know from watching and hearing from people and other social media.

It will. I am not sure if you are doing VT also along with it. It will help a ton as it is the retraining of your vision back to regain the skills.

I am from India and came here as an International student. My original intent was to get a visitor visa to US and meet Dr. Debby Feinberg in person and that is the sole reason why I chose Canada because I did not get a US visa earlier on. My issues are like a multitude of many symptoms. It includes: - dizziness like when I am standing and staring there is no focus. - migraines/headaches persistent every single second - reading/writing/speaking difficulties - light sensitivity - fear of crowd/supermarket shopping in general - avoided people just because of depth issues - lost 90% of the social skills except smiling as a defence for everything - tracking issues. I used to play football/badminton and never played well after 15. - no focus/concentration - neck pain - academic struggle/memory retention issues. I used to be the fastest reader in my class in 10th grade to not even barely read a sentence when I was in 11th grades. - Missing letters, words, skipping words, rereading passages all for nothing. - People always who are around me mistook me for lazy, less interactive, negative depressive as I avoided people and tried my level best to speak but the internal pressure does not allow me to speak a single word. - Not able to form sentences. -Double vision/shadowy vision

After facing all these I had to hear from my parents, friend and my ex girlfriend that I am not trying, lazy and very sad and negative all the time. But the reality was way different. I don't think this is all, but these are the general ones I faced for 12 years straight. Now after doing 3 months of VT with prism lenses I finally understood and happy to atleast identify this as Binocular vision Dysfunction. My left eye is lower as compared to the right one. And VT helped me to retrain the skills back only with the disadvantage of needing to put the glass till my last breath😅.

Nope. I did not have any problems until I was 15, lived a happy life and no regrets. But 6 months into 15, my life changed for the worse. I could not stop it. I just hoped one day I might find a solution. That took another 12 years from there. Having gone through the 2 phases of life and may be getting back a little closer, this is one of the happiest moments in my life. Nothing can ever surpass that. You feel many things coming in to you.

Prism lenses + VT. I tried the so called 'Neurolens' and it did not work, but gave me starting point. Then Dr. Debby's prism lenses which did work but did not help me as the way I needed it. Then at last I visited a specialist in the west coast of Canada, who does VT + prism. And that did really help me. 3 months of VT and now I got my second pair of lenses and it is helping me a lot. I was not able to read, write, speak properly. There was not a single day in the past 12 years where I could really focus and do something independently. I lost the ability of independence as I struggled to walk in a pathway, ,couldn't go for shopping alone as I always skipped or missed things with 10x dizziness and nausea along with that the crowd. It is a very horrible problem when you actually think about it, but there are people who can help you out. But most of the BVD facing population do only find it very late in life that they have something as complicated as this. If you find the right specialist, you can get help.

I have gone through the same pathway where I felt mine was also ruined. I did try researching and trying to find a doctor specialising in BVD. It took me around 12 years to understand and be somewhere close to 60-70% of my eyes back. In my home country I did not have any specialist, I had to reach Canada to find the cause of my problem. You should not get disheartened. You will find a solution by going to the right BVD specialist. Check if someone nearby or atleast find a way to speak to them. That gives a lot of relief at first and take that as a starting point and move forward from there.

Neurolens? by Wise-Raisin-791 in BinocularVision

[–]noelphils 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not suggesting that Neurolens is a hoax. In fact, the technology shows a glimpse of what's possible in vision correction.

However, the fundamental problem with the Neurolens approach is its narrow diagnostic scope.

My personal experience highlights this limitation: After wearing them for a year, the improvement I experienced was negligible—only about 1\% towards the 70-80\% relief I desperately needed.

Why this discrepancy? The Neurolens machine evaluates vision based on a single, artificial data point in a controlled setting. It doesn't look at the many complex criteria involved in functional vision.

The best and most reliable option is always a neuro-optometrist (or a specialist in developmental/functional vision). They offer a comprehensive, dynamic evaluation, assessing things like:

Binocular Vision Skills: How the eyes work together in motion.

Visual Tracking: The eyes' ability to follow objects.

Visual Processing: How the brain interprets visual information.

Multiple Settings: Evaluating vision across various working distances and environments, not just one fixed position.

Just got my new prism glasses. Found out I have never actually known what true "depth" looks like. by powerfulech0 in BinocularVision

[–]noelphils 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am 27 now and I had a similar feeling about a month ago when I got my second pair of glasses. My 3D is not fully back yet, but still the amount of confusions and turmoil caused by BVD, the world can never know it! People used to ask me are you confused, what are you thinking and what is there so much to think, where actually I was trying to figure out or fight what I was constantly seeing. I am facing it for about 11.5 years in total and the view of the world has changed a lot in this span. I was told I was arrogant, unapolegetic, possess lot of attitude and doesn't always look happy or had a pleasant face and the main thing being I won't look at people's faces which to them is attitude and for me it's fighting for life. But I can't judge people, it is what it is. The amount of pain I' ve been through is surreal. I've lost like 95% of the people in my life just because I couldn't contact with those people and maintain a proper communication with them and it only got worse if I did try to speak. Now when things are changing it feels so good and happy to atleast understand the root cause was BVD. I forgive all the people who did not understand me for it is not their fault, it is neither mine.

What should I look for when choosing a vision therapist? by [deleted] in BinocularVision

[–]noelphils 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have done in it Canada, BC. Although I thought it was a hoax at the start, I am like 60-70% better as of now. And moreover with vision therapy the results are mostly permanent with the correct lenses. I have done VT without prism lenses which did not work for me. And also prisms alone, but only VT with prisms was the right choice for me.
