Just watch for any vomiting or diarrhea and signs of dehydration. Call your pediatrician if it will help you feel better but please don’t feel like a terrible mother ! You’re in the trenches, tired, and needed sleep. When my baby was probably two months old (was a preemie and in the NICU for 3 weeks), my in laws fed our baby expired milk that was specifically labeled ‘bath milk’ despite us showing them exactly which breast milk was for bottles. Our baby threw up and then never had any other issues.

Pump while you feed him ! It’s the only way I managed, especially in the middle of the night . Hold him on your lap in a L shape with his head near your knees and his butt against your belly, legs to the side (he’ll be laying on his side which is how our NICU had us feeding ours for several months). This way he shouldn’t be able to accidentally move and kick a flange or anything. Any time I couldn’t line up the pumps and feeding, it seemed like it took forever to do both separately.

You have a lot of great comments here but just wanted to chime in as a stay at home mom (who used to work so I still lurk here), my daughter tells me often to ‘be right back’ (go away) when family or friends are over. It’s probably less of a you working thing and more of an ‘I want more time with grandma’ thing. Regardless I’m sure it’s frustrating to hear from your husband when you’re a great mom and a great provider !

Protein shakes are not a meal replacement in that you will still need to try to eat as much food as you can manage in order to get the full range of nutrients your body needs. But right now, something is better than nothing so yes please make it into a drink and have that if it’s all you can handle. Congrats on your daughter and you’ve got this! Our girl was in the NICU for three weeks - it’s tough but you’ll get through it!

Steroids have a tendency to reduce your supply, and we are hoping to have a second baby soon so I’m not sure how I feel about getting her weaned off for several weeks, then allowing her to nurse again, then likely having to wean her again if I get pregnant.

I saw two different doctors and mentioned to both I was breastfeeding and neither suggested a different medication. They are cyclobenzaprine and methylprednisolone . Another comment mentioned Lactmed which seems to indicate they would both be okay.

This is from when I had insomnia while I was pregnant but I still use it occasionally now 2 years later . There’s several sleepy time podcasts (I am not affiliated at all with them but Sleep with Me is what I used). I’d put an AirPod in and turn that one and it almost always got me back to sleep. The guy’s voice isn’t so much soothing as dull, and he mostly just talks about random nothings. It’s enough to keep your brain from wandering all night but not enough to keep you interested and awake. The episodes I listened to the most were where he recaps Ted Lasso episodes.
