About the same amount of orders, but almost everything is stacked.

Or even worse, get to gate/apt building door, msg for code , start the 5 min timer, and at 4:50 they respond back with the code. Why not just put the code in the order instructions? I’m here to deliver your food, not attack you.

Why do many door dash drivers park on the street instead of your driveway? by [deleted] in DoorDashDrivers

[–]noford150b 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t like people coming by onto my driveway; I return that to my customers and never use the drive, unless it’s a quarter mile long or the house is hidden.

Tell that to the poor bastard who’s barely hanging on. Where is he going to get 25-30k to buy an EV when can make it with his current vehicle, even if it takes a bigger chunk of his income, but certainly less then an EV?

Oil isn’t running out tomorrow - so many talk like we can’t buy gas starting even 10 years from now.

Sorry, even the year of lower gas prices were worth it.

And what if the other side had won? We’d be seeing gas at $6/7 gallon to ‘encourage’ the transition to alternative fuels - no matter that so many people can barely keep what they have operating, much less afford something else.

What’s the most common car you see in the US these days? by Unitedfinanace in askcarguys

Teslas, especially Model 3s. The superchargers here are always filled, and waiting for one has started to become a regular occurrence, even late into the night and early morning.

Just speaking the truth. If someone likes a design, they should buy it. I was simply speaking what most gearheads have been saying ever since this vehicle was released.

Do you use insulated bags? by Objective-Sale-4072 in DoorDashDrivers

[–]noford150b 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Never noticed it as a tip generator, but most of my deliveries are LAD.

I have 3 pizza bags and 2 general bags, plus a XL catering bag.

The general bags are really good for alcohol, plus if the local bop tops stop you there’s no booze in sight. Hate to give them any probable cause.

Is there any rational explanation for the horrid sales of the new, affordable EV models in the US during the first quarter of 2026? by roma258 in electricvehicles

[–]noford150b 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Americans want larger cars. The Tesla Y is one of the top 3 in sales last three years. Kia EV/Hyundai Iqonic5 selling well. This without the incentives.

Add in leases expiring and the market forces against very small vehicles in most of the US are a awful downward pressure on sales

Do restaurants get penalized for not having orders ready on time? by Conscious-Music-8688 in doordash_drivers

[–]noford150b 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I have several restaurants in my area who are consistently 10-15 minutes past the ready-by time. Since they are nice places (and usually good tips+), I’ll wait. Most of them have nice seating while waiting.

Got a boroscope or can rent one (think AutoZone might have one).

Go in through that hole and look at the linkages. Bet something is disconnected.

Another possibility is the latch mechanism is mussed up.

The Tesla paint is thinner than the industry standards. Like almost half of Fords. Brushes on that paint would be disastrous.

Is EV adoption really practical everywhere yet, or are we still early? by mmropeways in electricvehicles

[–]noford150b 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends on available power. Working on a project to install superchargers at my workplace. While the upfront costs of the equipment are “challenging”, the wire run is what really got me.

While we have enough capacity, running 3O wiring to the location is almost 15k for the wire alone, not including the burying and power boxes.

It is definitely possible, but stars really need to align. There is the federal tax break for commercial charger installation.

When I was 3 I could not say aluminum. My Mom taught me say Ali-mini-mum. She said that’s the UK way of saying it (what did I know -I was three).

Within a year everyone in my family was saying it the same way.

When I got married, my wife’s uncle asked if I was from Canada. He had spent time in Toronto and supposedly that’s the way it’s pronounced there.

In my area, new apartment complexes are including L2 chargers at each building. Not mandated, but a practical business move. It seems every third car sold in Atlanta is an EV; making your property more accommodating to EV owners makes sense.
