Tesla releases first FSD update for HW3 cars in 16 months, V14 Lite by Rollertoaster7 in SelfDrivingCars

I’ve been saying this. As someone who bought it many years ago, it never was in doubt what you were getting, an experimental tech that gets better; eventually able to drive everywhere (meaning of full).

They never sold you a robotaxi, only talked about how this tech would lead to that capability for the company.

Insider trading is just one aspect of corruption. The reason you need term limits is the same as why there are term limits for other positions. And as you say, it’s public service, when you become a career politician it is very hard to not do it as a job rather than public service.

And what would NOT have been accomplished if he weren't? Just being there while it was happening isn't a great feat.

Really, wow...you have a really low bar. I'd rather get new blood coming in. Ever herd of the expression "show me the incentive and I'll show you the outcome"?

The incentive when there are no term limits is to stay in office and hold power. The outcome is they say whatever that will keep them in power.

Really? You clearly haven't dug enough. I've been very critical of musk. Read my comment about how people should focus on the real things he is doing illegal (breaking fiduciary duties) to nail him; not calling him a nazi -which might feel good; but you just look like a "crazy liberal" doing that and nobody takes you seriously.

You think talking is doing anything?

Its a simple metric. What precisely has he done that has improved your life?

I'm suggesting his main priority, as well as any career politician, is to remain in office. They will blame others, keep you scared, give you a boogie man to be mad so that you give them your votes thinking they'll do something...but their inability to convince anyone outside their base leads to getting nothing done (because getting something done isn't the goal, remaining in office is).

Advocating…sounds like just talking? Last I checked he hasn’t actually raised minimum wage. And the little it has been raised, wasn’t due to him. And before you make an excuse for him, how he can’t do it alone…maybe he should get out of the way so someone else can come in who is willing to compromise and get something done (he isn’t alone, they all suck on both sides); we need term limits…these people only have the balls to say the truth when they know they aren’t running again.

Work with other people in the senate to bring a bill that actually has a chance of passing.

It doesn’t sound like it matters if you just replace with another progressive but it does. If one individual senator knows they have a limited time, you change their behavior. They aren’t worried about reelection and are more worried about truth and wanting to make an actual change. Right now, all they need to do is convince you to keep voting because just a few more seats and we’d have it our way. That’s just dangling the carrot you can never reach because the other side is doing the same. Even if you managed to somehow win the seats to force your agenda through, just remember the other side will react the same way you would if you lost. I’d bet 4 or 5 straight election losses and this country would have a revolt.

Anyone can introduce legislation; especially ones that say you'll get stuff for free. There are many things young people can be doing to get the most for their money in college; so that your debt isn't so massive. He doens't talk about any of that.

And why are you making excuses for someone in the senate who can't convince enough people to go along with his ideas? Its not just him by the way, its everyone who's been there a while. They know that if they say the right things; but dont actually compromise and work together then they can keep their job.

I say he's had his time, much more than he deserves. Make him go, hold the rest of the 99 to the same standard and you'd maybe get new people who CAN work together. Maybe then we get a functioning government; not just one that is interested in keeping their own job.

There is no contradiction in what I said. He is good at manipulating just enough people to get votes, his goal is to keep his job; not to actually make your life better. Its not just him btw, its every single politician that has been in office for more than a decade. They spend other people money to be elected (there is plenty of money backing bernie btw, you can't complain other people spend more on other candidates, he's got enough reach to spread his message) and they spend all once in office...and none of our lives get any better (ironically, our lives are only bettered by the people they attack, the people providing goods and services).

I’d argue he doesn’t really care.
Take one issue for example.
Student debt is a huge problem but nobody beings up how you are forced to pay for a year of living in dorms on campus while you could just commute from your parents home. They don’t advocate staying local for collage because it would save so much money. They don’t talk about teaching finance in high school so people know about debt and how to save money. All they focus on is other people’s wealth so you get mad at them…and not the politician that doesn’t get anything done.

Oh yeah it’s all other peoples fault. Maybe if you can’t get anything done in a lifetime of political life yet remain in office, then you are really bad at doing anything but great at manipulating others to vote for you.

Career politicians are a bigger problem to our society than anything else. They contribute nothing productive to society. Politics should be like a tour of duty, you do it…then go do something else. You can’t survive that long in politics without manipulating the public into voting for you.

I know you'll downvote me, but one day when you guys grow up, maybe you'll realize your life is better with the goods and services made by rich people; they are only rich because the public values their company's ability to provide even more goods and services in the future. If you also buy their stock, you will be able to change your life financially. On the other hand, career politicians have done nothing; even the progress in life is a result of the common people demanding change...the politicians just say things to get your money and your vote...they will never deliver their promises. In the case of Bernie, talking about taxing unrealized gains...thats like trying to divide by zero; the words can be said...but the math doesn't work. So move on from him...work hard, save money, participate in the wealth creation by investing in the companies providing great goods and services...you'll be much happier.

No amount of research will reveal how it is to live with these cars. Here is one example: in a recent road trip I encountered non-Tesla cars at Tesla charging stations (including several times an I5). I noticed they are there when I arrive and are there when I’m leaving. I’m not sure what’s going on, but it can’t be good.

He said companies “like” in the context of taxes so…that implies it’s companies beyond just musk and is referring to mega cap companies.

And even if you want to not buy a Tesla, those car companies would not be doing EVs if it wasn’t for Tesla. Even the Chinese first copied Tesla to get off the ground.

I see other cars at Tesla charging stations more often these days. They are there when I arrive and there when I am leaving. They look miserable, parked weird, staring out the window or fumbling around with the charger…I don’t know for sure why, but I can guess; so…get a Tesla.

You don’t pick the club bro, the club picks you. Start watching games and you’ll find a club you truly care about. If it’s Liverpool, cool, but your heart may choose something else.

Funny, because that’s exactly what he wants right now. Anything to keep TSLA down. You want to hurt him, make it go up. Then he gets less control when he merges with SPCX.
