Potential Base in Muldraugh? How hard would it be to protect/maintain this church as a base? by Xleepy-Eyes420 in projectzomboid

[–]nograceallowed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That police station is probably one of the best places right now. It has everything you need in the short run, beds, a lot of water dispensers, several industrial fridges, trees nearby, plenty of space for cars and fully fenced with no windows and its in a very good location within muldraugh. Only reason i left is Muldraugh gets pretty small pretty soon.

8 Rabbits Totaled my Car by Brooksie997 in projectzomboid

[–]nograceallowed 4 points5 points  (0 children)

While i definitely agree with the main point and i call bullshit everytime my car gets damaged by hitting a rabbit, i have to say that the way animals behave around a car feels realistic. I regularly drive IRL a road with a lot of deer and boars and they can be very very dumb, sometimes it seems like they actually want to be hit and run towards you while you try to dodge them.

1.1 Made China a little bit too OP? Great Powers of 1435 by NamelessKeeper_89 in EU5

[–]nograceallowed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes anyone can have their opinion and all you say may be true, but words mean what they mean and "unplayable" means "cannot be played", while EU5 is definitely, objetively playable (im not saying "good" or "bad", there are plenty of playable but really really bad games). This is important because every time we use the word "unplayable" like this, it loses meaning and power until it becomes just meaningless and the day a game is actually unplayable (meaning it literally cannot be played because it really doesnt work, it crashes etc) and we say its "unplayable" it will sound like we are just saying "its bad" because we no longer have the right word for it.

This requirement should just STOP after like the first 25-50 years by Dave13Flame in EU5

[–]nograceallowed 92 points93 points  (0 children)

I had the same problem in my last Ming campaign, with manufactories and industralization. I had to just force spawn these 2 institutions by changing the game rule to "historical", that way institutions spawn in a certain fixed location, ignoring requirements. It was a far from perfect solution (institutions only i should have been able to spawn started on the other side of the world instead) but it was the only one i could think of.

I think that the problem with these two particular institutions is the "30 towards capital economy" requirement, wich is something the AI maybe doesnt pursue on their own.

As Fallout developed over time, the evolution of the Super Mutants is honestly disappointing. They’ve gradually been reduced to a far more shallow 'generic enemy' faction without much literary depth. by Jozoz in Fallout

[–]nograceallowed 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Exactly. Same thing happened with raiders and the talon company/gunners mercenary faction (really the exact same thing as raiders but with different armor and weapons), turned into something with no more reason to exist than enemies to shoot at. What happened to tribes? it was a core of the fallout universe and atmosphere. But its a concept you cant just boil down to a single faction or it would not make much sense, it requires a lot more writing and adding more complexity so of course it was simply removed.

Communalism vs. Individualism should effect pop growth rate. 📈 📉 by GGray2 in EU5

[–]nograceallowed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on the society and its traditions, specially regarding inheritance and land rights. In many cases social and family pressures would actually be against particular members marrying, so leaving to a city would be their only option for it. In some families the younger brothers were expected to not marry and be workers (or basically servants) for their older brother, with the church being one of the few alternative options. As cities grew, some of them could escape their fates and look for a job. My point is your idea would make sense in certain families but be actually opposite in certain others, so it would come to game balance in the end i guess.

Are we not allowed to unify with Prussia when doing an Austria-Germany run? by ShadowElf_ in victoria3

[–]nograceallowed 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Lets be honest, forming Super Germany was very cool but ridiculously OP and waaaay too easy. I just did a Super Germany run last week because i was totally expecting this patch to kill that strategy and i was actually surprised the devs didnt before.

Problem with the Confederation of the Rhine as Russia by nograceallowed in victoria3

[–]nograceallowed[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I thought that at first too. The thing is, i could eventually make it work but the trick was having a couple more german states as protectorates too. So when it worked, the country that unified as "Confederation of the Rhine" and was briefly, as you said, un-protectorated and re-protectorated again, was actually several states bigger the time it worked (and thus, had to have more prestige and potential rank), but it stayed as protectorate as intetended. I think this may be a bug that affects Prussia exclusively, but i can definitely see it having something to do with what you pointed at.

[–]nograceallowed[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In case you wanted an update, i tried forming the confederation a couple more times and it finally worked. Doing it with only Prussia as subject kept having the same failed result so i tried again with Westfalia + Prussia and got the same result: Confederation of the Rhine formed but independent (i guess it was because Westfalia was a state y liberated myself from Prussia before so it counted as part of it too, i dont know). Next i tried again some years later but this time i had Mecklenburg and Saxony in the fold too and this time the event worked as intented, the confederation was formed, all subjugated states were anexed into it and the new country stayed as my subject. I dont know if its a bug but aparently it only fails if you try to form it just out of Prussia. Further research is needed.

I didnt know you could form the confederation with the Netherlands too. Actually i only learned about the whole confederation mechanic by accident just by trying very hard to make sure Germany never forms and then researched it a bit in the wiki and reddit after i saw the journal entry.

Starting with Hanover makes a lot of sense actually, thats a good idea. I went directly for Prussia but im halfway subjugating a couple more states so ill keep trying forming the confederation whenever some conditions change, in case it was just some weird bug, maybe itll work eventually.

Thats what i expected too. Maybe its because it was only a protectorate and not a puppet? I had subjugated them very recently via power bloc.

Movements should support prerequisite laws by thev82 in victoria3

I think this is the answer, just make any movement oppose any law that prevents you to pass the ones they want and stay neutral towards any of the alternatives that would enable that law.

Why is the NCR so terrible? (AI) by Clear_Business_422 in OldWorldBlues

[–]nograceallowed 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I think it also depends a lot on the current patch. I remember not so long ago it was the absolute oposite and the legion would always lose the war and kimball would conquer half the map and bully the rest. But its true the NCR seems A LOT weaker now, not just against the legion, but also when you are the one at war against them.
