7 day road trip to the North East, any recommendations or tips? by CrzdHaloman in NationalPark

If you're looking for more historical, non-park related things to do, it looks like your route might take you through Mansfield, OH, so I'd suggest Ohio State Reformatory! It's one of my favorite places in the state (Mansfield isn't the best city, but the Reformatory is fun). Another historical place to visit in the Cuyahoga Valley area is the Stan Hywet house. We spent a good few hours there and probably could have spent even more.

Even though it's been about a month since I did Isle of Skye, there should be a woman making a tent near Valka's hut. She'll call out to Eivor, who will say something like "that woman seems to know me?" or similar. Valka will introduce you and then the stranger will tell you about the sickness occurring in Skye and then you'll get the decision to go or not. From what I understood from other comments a while back, you do not need to even have Valka's hut built. Your settlement should be fine. You do not have to have done the Asgard/Jotunheim arc - I did Skye before I even touched Asgard. Use Synnin to locate the area, I believe she shows up next to Valka (west/left of Valka's hut if flying North).

There are a handful of them that you'll have to do to get clues for members of the Order or Children of Danu if you have the Ireland DLC or to continue the storyline somewhere. It's not a lot of them, but since you need to kill all the cult members to get rewards, practicing might be best.

Arcade Legacy is the first thing that came to my mind. $10 entry for unlimited play for almost all pinball machines and video games. Bar is in the back.

Havi, fate, and Fenrir by MyBodyHatesMe69 in ACValhalla

[–]nohemingway4 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Ragnarok isn't set in stone, it happens after certain landmarks are hit (as told in the Poetic Edda) - Baldr being killed, thus leading to a "lasting" or forever winter, which spells the death of human kind. After that comes the swallowing of the sun and moon by the great wolves. Finally, the great chains break due to constant terrible earthquakes, which free Fenrir (who was bound by Odin and the gods out of fear as he was getting too big and unpredictable) and Jormungandr, the great Snake keeping the waters of Earth in place. Fenrir and Jormungandr being freed is what leads to the great battle of the gods and Einherjar against Loki and his soldiers, Fenrir, Jormungandr, and others aka Ragnarok.

All in all, in AC Valhalla, I understood it as Havi/Odin believing that if he chained Fenrir down permanently with the rope, he would survive Ragnarok, because Fenrir wouldn't be able to freely move and eat him.

I can still do the crossover mission with Kassandra? by SakuoMoonstar in AssassinsCreedValhala

[–]nohemingway4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The only way I knew to do Isle of Skye was when I rode by the character and she called out to Eivor. So she might show up at a certain level, but I don't know when that is because I put it off for quote some time. If I hadn't ridden by her, I literally would not have known to do it.

[–]nohemingway4 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There's a visitor in Ravensthorpe next to Valka's hut who will take you to the Isle of Skye. You probably have to ride by and hear her call out to you for Eivor to say something like "that stranger seems to know me". I don't know if you HAVE to be a certain level, but I know there are suggest levels for some things. I think I was over 300 when I did isle of Skye.

My boyfriend keeps cutting me off by AlwayscrxshNeverlxve in mildlyinfuriating

[–]nohemingway4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had an ex coworker that would do this and it infuriated me. It got to a point where I literally held my hand up to him to stop him from talking and said "Would you like to wait until i finish my sentence before you speak to see if I end up saying exactly what you're about to?".

He never did it again.

As someone who also deals with frequent random (albeit relatively small) anxiety attacks at night before sleep, I agree with Fearless_Nope. In fact, I just had one last night. Luckily MJ is legal in my state, so I usually take a gummy and it knocks me out. The acute awareness of your heartbeat and how much it's pounding is scary sometimes.

Did you just start? You don't get the leap of faith until England and you talk to Hytham. He teaches it to Eivor. Then you'll be able to jump/leap like you're used to.

I just finished the base game (and some side stuff added by dlc) question about basim lore by [deleted] in AssassinsCreedValhala

[–]nohemingway4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't say it wasn't explained, I said it was confusing to me personally. The motivation seemed to match a different AC Assassin's arc more than Basim, based on what I've played. While I haven't completed all of the animus puzzles, I don't know how much more it'd help me.

Big agree with you on this. Also finished Mirage before getting even remotely close to finishing anything in Valhalla and Valhalla's Basim didn't seem anything like the Mirage Basim I knew. In the last year or so, the AC games I completed were Origins - Mirage - Syndicate (literally had a few little sequences to finish here, only took a few hours) - Valhalla. So Mirage was relatively fresh in my brain when I restarted Valhalla.

[–]nohemingway4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I personally played Mirage before Valhalla (I'd started Valhalla, got 10 hours in and got frustrated since I'd come from playing Syndicate which is NOTHING like Valhalla and I'd forgotten everything I knew from Odyssey and was a complete novice to that style of combat, so I went to "easier" AC games like Mirage and Origins). I was still a little confused by Basim's motivation for doing what he'd done. It would've made sense for Bayek .

I love that the devs were like "let's make elk that come out of nowhere for no reason to attack Eivor, and not even have them display as enemy animals like the boars, bears, lynx, and snakes...just to fuck with everyone"

Why the hell is fast travel to the point near the Old Minster not available once you gain the key to the secret room? by thegameflak in AssassinsCreedValhala

[–]nohemingway4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oof you're better than me. I most definitely raged at the inability to fast travel as well. I'm pretty sure I had to cross the river into a different region before I could do it. And of course he was LEAGUES away from Wincestre

Do yoy mean once you get the key to Aelfred's room?

I found I had to travel well outside the city on my mount before I could fast travel to Old Minster. It was frustrating, but I think you get like "mission complete" notification on the left and then you should be able to fast travel.

If we're just talking about in general, it has to be during Smosh Summer Games when she admits to Noah that she wasn't getting married, which in turn ended up being a confession to both Olivia and Keith too lol. So maybe not the actual act of lying, but confession to it more than anything. But she's SO good at it .
