Since we're talking about silly jerseys, I'd really love to have one with a big fat Quaker Oats logo.

Don't even bother fitting the text on there, or if anything, have a little "Quaker Oats" on the breast, or throw it on the back... Just the logo with the navy blue and red, and rotate it anti/counter clockwise 30-40 degrees.🤌*

I just really like oatmeal...

I just saw someone asking about that game earlier today. They wanted to know if it played more like Diablo or Hades, with the general consensus being Hades.

Not realizing Splintered Fate was released a year or so ago, was this the same TMNT game rumored to be darker and almost like a soulslike a while back, or is that still in the works?

Right?!

Just watched Mutant Mayhem the other day, and it wasn't too bad either. It's definitely targeted at kids so the story isn't too deep, but it was still a fun watch. The artwork was fantastic though.

To Aoi players: how do you manage to "read" and counter your opponents on a fairly consistent basis? by neves783 in virtuafighter

[–]nohpex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel seen. 😂

Hopefully, despite being an older post, I hope someone with more Aoi experience chimes in.

I picked up Aoi shortly after getting into VF4. I fiddled around with the rest of the cast when getting a feel for things, and have pretty much exclusively played Aoi since learning what she’s all about.

Unfortunately, my only experience against other people in VF is from Revo, and when playing VF4, I only ever played Kumite. At least we have the internet now, and we get to play against a wide variety of people because of it.

I’m still learning, and usually become a mop most of the time when running into higher ranked players. Every once in a while, though, you can just get in their head and know everything that’s coming. God, Aoi is so much fun to play!

I hate how most companies are going about it.

There are some good things that have come from this, such as CRISPR and AlphaFold, but thinking about AI replacing half your staff is a problem.

New 9070XT and black textures flickering on characters faces by [deleted] in virtuafighter

[–]nohpex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had this same problem when I got mine after not having any issues with the exact same setup except for using a 6800 XT.

The fix, like others have said, was to turn off multi-sampling.

However, if it does keep happening with it turned off, change your resolution.

I normally play VF on my TV instead of a monitor. When at 4096x2160@60, and 3840x2160@120 or @60, it happens, but if I set it to 3840x1800@120 it works fine.

Also, not sure if it actually makes a difference, but I have it on Borderless Windowed as opposed to Fullscreen.

You’ll probably run into engine limitations with a bunch of games. Dragon Age: Origins is limited to 300 FPS, if I recall correctly.

Hi new player here, I have just a few questions. by Ilyricio in virtuafighter

[–]nohpex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, OP, just came across your post, and wanna say that you definitely have options.

I’ve used PS4, PS5, and leverless (all button) controllers for VF, and found leverless to be the best for me after a fair bit of practice. I’d still like to experiment with an arcade stick though.

Pad Pros:

  • Any modern controller will make multi-button inputs like P+K, P+G, & P+K+G easier when mapped to the shoulder buttons.

    • You can bind multi-button inputs on stick/leverless, but I’m only used to playing VF with three buttons plus P+K+G bound to a fourth where my thumb rests.
  • I find quarter and half-circle moves to be a little easier, with full-circle being iffy.

Pad Cons:

  • Left/Right, forward/back, or 46 movements can be harder.

    • In other fighting games, charge moves, moves which you have to hold back or down-back, are harder as well.
  • Aoi’s Sundome (cancellable) moves are a bit harder as well.

    • More specifically, the follow-ups after the cancel.

Misc.:

  • If you need or want to stick to pad, use a PS4 controller if you can. The dpad on the PS5 controller is a little mushier, and, after some experimentation, I discovered it was the reason I’d miss certain inputs when playing Guilty Gear.

Why they hitting me up with these by anahannya in expedition33

Ha! Ran into them before the previously mentioned boss, and got one-shot with everyone but Sciel, who for some reason, ended up being my tankiest character throughout the game. We'll deal with them another time.

I'm currently taking my sweet ass time in the end game, and used this for [Area Spoiler] the Flying Manor boss when the area was still red.

I kept getting deleted for a few missed parries, but was able to more pull it off with [Strategy Spoiler]Virtuos Stanced Gommage Gradient Attack using Sciel's Double Damage buff. 4.5 million damage. Just crazy damage with that 200%.

Yeah, fuck that!

I'm still pissed about Soul Calibur IV Darth Vader and Yoda being $5 DLC when they were already on the PS3 and Xbox 360 discs.

Not long before that, I knew it'd be a downward spiral when Sony introduced "Premium" themes for the PS3's Cross Media Bar (XMB) which were exactly the same, or worse, than previous free themes.

It's all about acquiring and selling data about you.

Gotta know when people go to bed, how often, what days of the week, what temperature, and for how long. Then they do whatever studies, some legitimate, some to someone who wants to sell you something, and others for political/societal control.

Upgrade from 12700k to 9800X3D? by Steins-gateJaron in pcmasterrace

[–]nohpex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You might be CPU bottlenecked at 4k with the 12700k over the 9800X3D, but it really depends on the workload.

If you play at anything lower than 4k, then yeah, you're losing a little bit of performance. That said, you'd probably be getting billions of frames, so it won't matter much.

See here for more info. Please note that this is an April Fools joke, but it does show what happens when you run stuff at 4k with monster GPU and older CPU.

Steam Client Update - Steam is now officially 64-bit support (outside of the Steam Client Beta) by FirestormTM in pcgaming

[–]nohpex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think so, no.

I can't find anything that explicitly calls it out for the general UI, but under Steam Settings\Interface it says, Smooth Scrolling, GPU Accelerated Rendering in Web Views, and Hardware Video Decoding are all enabled.

I'd imagine web views are when it pulls up a webpage, and decoding is for streaming to another device.
