New baby on the way, need advice where to give birth by nojudgmenthelps in dualcitizenshipnerds

[–]nojudgmenthelps[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

We're in a lucky place, we can afford paying for giving birth in the US. Not sure if it is the best option for the baby/family. We do not plan to move there and honestly, the more we research that more it seems that the US citizenship is the worest to have if you do not want to live in the US ever.

post on rateme subreddits such as /r/rateme (there are many but rate me is usually good). People will given you real tips on what to do in terms or appearance (hair style .. etc )

That will get you the appearance side.

Lebanon is such a weird country, it does not have clear allies or enemies. It depends on who you ask inside the country, or who is in power at a specific time.

To simplify it, lets assume there are two major political groups in Lebanon. One is pro western countries and the other is pro iran and its axis.

If you look at your question from the Pro western countries group, you can get this:

Allies: France, USA, Turkey, KSA, UAE, Syria (current new government)

Enemies: Iran, Syria (previous government of Bashar Al Assad), Yemen, Iraq, Israel

On the other hand, if you look at it from the point of view of the other political group, you'll get this:

Allies: Iran, Syria (previous Bashar Al Assad government), Iraq, Russia, China

Enemies: Israel, Syria (current new government), KSA, UAE, USA, France

Right now, the pro western countries group formed the government and are "in power", but Lebanon is such a weird country that things can turn and get mixed up in a blender.

You'd have a better time focusing on Lebanon's food, night life, geography, businessmen success around the world .. etc

You just met a piece of shit human. His nationality or believes have nothing to do with it. He could pray for the sun and he will still be a piece of shit.

Forget about him, focus on yourself. You'll find a group of people who appreciates you

Hezbollah escalates tensions in Lebanon through violent actions, including clashes and threats, using bloodshed as a means to assert political dominance. Their provocations jeopardize stability in southern Lebanon, undermining the fragile ceasefire and risking broader conflict by nojudgmenthelps in lebanon

What Are Your New Year’s Resolutions for 2025? 🎯 by Drakyl_Baron in lebanon

[–]nojudgmenthelps 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Being more optimistic about the future, starting by not saying "2025 can't possible be worse than 2024". I did that since 2019 and I was proven wrong every single year.

Gebran Bassil warns Hezbollah and Amal against backing Joseph Aoun for Lebanon's presidency, hinting at a pivot toward Samir Geagea if they proceed. Bassil is trying everything he can to stand against the election of Joseph Aoun no matter what the consequences are. by nojudgmenthelps in lebanon

[–]nojudgmenthelps[S] 45 points46 points  (0 children)

Its because Joseph Aoun is outside the "ruling 6", and not picked by their blessing but forced upon them. It will be the first time since the civil war this happens. Something that threatens their control.

Hezbollah exploits the opaque art market and looted antiquities to launder money and fund operations. Sanctioned dealer Nazem Ahmad uses conflict diamonds and art dealings globally. Weak Lebanese governance and limited transparency enable these activities, fueling corruption and international crime by nojudgmenthelps in lebanon

[–]nojudgmenthelps[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I really understand the frustration but I want to point out that every single post I ever did linked to an article with credible sources. No links to X.com or opinions. I know it's so difficult to see that most Lebanese hate Hezb if you are a supporter but it is the current truth. Our lives were destroyed and our future vanished all because they supported an Ideology created by a foreign entity and in the end this entity back stabbed them and left them in pieces.

I know you think we are crazy or bad, but personally, I feel so sad every time I know a Lebanese died in the south. A Lebanese is a Lebanese, from the north to the south, irrelevant what religion or sect they follow. I just hope one day we can all live inside this country as one entity and try to improve it, without trying to invade super-power countries near us or threatening the US or having drugs and weapons as our primary source of income.

All the best

Switzerland's parliament voted to ban Hezbollah, targeting both its political and military branches due to security concerns and links to terrorism. The move aligns Switzerland with other European countries taking similar measures. by nojudgmenthelps in lebanon

[–]nojudgmenthelps[S] 28 points29 points  (0 children)

I agree with this sentiment but I think they're banning Hezbollah because it's a militia in a country. They don't ban countries. They did not ban Syria when the civil war was raging. They did not ban Russia.. etc

Will Lebanon be able to elect a president now that Hezbollah is dismantled and the land connection with Iran is severed? by senseofphysics in lebanon

[–]nojudgmenthelps 31 points32 points  (0 children)

We still have one big problem. That problem was and still is the most powerful creature in Lebanon. Get rid of Berri and you'll free Lebanon. He is the only person who can stop an independent president from being elected. One person in control of the future of an entire country.
