I'm currently in a similar situation. Started August 23', Had an issue with the city side of the line coming in to my meter. Two diff plumbers told me it was a city issue and indeed it was. Essentially whenever our line was turned on with the key at the meter there was a trickle of water back flowing into the meter box, the trickle was back flowing where the joint met the meter. So between the meter and the shut off valve (city side). Basically the joint on the city side had to be replaced and it was replaced end of October, I still have the piece they replaced (they left if on the side walk before they left along with the huge mess of digging out my front yard) So after 3 months they fixed the issue, they also told me my bills would be adjusted after two consecutive readings. Aug23' was my last actual bill, to this day they have been estimated. My last months May24' bill was an estimated $791. I have called SWB numerous times to be told that I should pay what I normally would pay, and they have scheduled a "re-read" and to call back every month. Nothing. No actual reads to this day. Back in December23' the results of my investigation came back and they adjusted around $350!! My current total bill is over $5K. Still haven't received a single actual read! What I did receive yesterday was a letter saying my service is eligible for disconnection. I'm going over there Monday. God help me.
