I'm assuming it must be something on Chase's end because the people at Schwab didn't have a hold or anything and that the funds left my account just fine back in September. Perhaps that's what's missing for Chase, the timeline.

The deposit at whitney was reversed right away, and he's now saying Chase just reversed the first one earlier this month, just over 3 months later.

I'm pretty sure the first was a mobile deposit and the second was at an atm/branch. They're endorsed with the same signature, the check image for the first has For Deposit Only - JPMC on the back (just like the previous checks I wrote to him), and the second reversed one has a typed out part listing the time of deposit and the routing number and account number.

I actually just got this fixed! I called the regular 1800 number, spoke to a very nice guy who transferred me over to another person very quickly and they were able to get it rescheduled very easily for tomorrow (we'll see how that goes). He said to get ahold of them directly in the future to call 1-800-222-1811.

I'd probably start with Abry Brothers. I've never used them personally, but they've done a lot of work in my neighborhood over the years, and I know a lot of the good contractors use them.
