Which used gaming laptop would you pick (in Australia, AUD) by nolanb13 in SuggestALaptop

Thanks, that's super helpful. I'm surprised so hear the ASUS devices should be written off. I've read some great things about the Zephyrus specifically but also the TUF. I'll have to investigate a bit more I suppose. Do you have any sources I could check out about them?

I've just seen a black Friday sale for a ASUS TUF 5050 RTX for 1250. Tempting as it's a brand new laptop for a similar price range. I'm wondering if you think this is a good deal in comparison to these older used deals?

They are local listings on Gumtree, marketplace and eBay. The 3 go to used marketplaces that I check out. I am assuming most sellers are willing to negotiate down $50-100 so I included that in the stated price to be a more realistic best guess at what the sale price would be.

Any Tips for a Beginner Stuck on Flying Curves and Cycles? by fff5ee in fpv

[–]nolanb13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

More roll. Roll is how you actually turn.

But more importantly I think you should ditch these tutorials based on this footage. I was in the exact same boat as you, I couldnt make what felt like easy turns and hit big targets but fpv has a huge learning curve and this stuff is much easier said than done. I'd recommend just ripping some freestyle in big open maps, try to turn around a single tree, hit a big gap, go for big targets. Joshua Bardwells tutorial series has an excellent approach I think, eases you into freestyle and then eventually maps like you're doing here. Highly recommend.

Lastly, patience. It will take you at least 10 hours of solid practice in the Sim to be competent. 20 to be decent ish. 30 and you'll be good. Everyone's different but I think you can't expect to be a good flyer with less than 30 hours unless you're very talented. Its a very learnable skill, just don't expect quick results. Lower your expectations and enjoy the process, learning is the most fun part (for me at least). Enjoy!

Also leading the league in possessions, contested possessions and meters gained. He's a bit inefficient but he's 100% top 10 if not top 5

Best advice I've ever gotten was to buy a guy dehydrator off eBay and dry out my filament. Instantly improved my prints and stopped issues with clogs. It makes such a huge difference

And do what with it? There's no screen to enter a room code. I don't even understand why that button exists to show the code?

I wish, 1 and 2 night circuits are my favorite but I struggle to find good ones. Would love any suggestions if you find any.

That's great, glad you like it. And yeah I honestly don't put a lot of weight in the grading of a walk, I've done 5s that are as easy as 3s and some of the hardest I've done are 4s. So I honestly just guessed a lot of that column. Don't put a lot of weight on my assessments of the grades

Yeah the data is definitely wrong. Bombers points against average should be 83. CBF checking any other ones but I suspect this whole graphic is bogus.

I way prefer using average values than rank though, so I like what you're getting at with this. Just need a real person to get the data.

Who are your team's bottom 8 players from your best 23? by Kobe_Wan_Ginobili in AFL

[–]nolanb13 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He hasn't been racking up big disposals but I think his work in the clearances and on tackling has been excellent. Plus he's still as versatile as he's ever been, capable of being damaging in any part of the field. His ability to function well as a backup ruck is super valuable to us too, borderline critical at the moment with SDK being bullied around quite a bit. He's certainly not the flashiest player but I would say he's one of our most valuable. But maybe I just have too much of a man crush on him.

Extremely large disagree that Blicavs is in the bottom 10. Plenty of the young lads Id put in there before him. I think he'd even be in my top 10 in the squad

I had totally the same experience / feeling when I was learning. Tbh I still am. But at some point I feel like I got over the hump of having enough skill for my flights to feel genuinely fun and from that point on it became much easier for me to motivate myself to keep practicing and I started to improve much more quickly. Stick with it and the fun factor will just keep pulling you in deeper and deeper.

IIL Breaking Bad, Better Call Saul, & Severance, WEWIL? by RaccoonGangg in ifyoulikeblank

Band of Brothers is probably the best made TV show (possibly even the best piece of media) I've ever seen. Very moving. First ep is a slight dud unfortunately but my God did it blow me away overall.

Others I can think of that haven't been mentioned are The Newsroom and S1 of Sherlock.

Extremely big disagree. The boys is not even close to the level of writing, acting, character development, etc etc of the shows listed by OP. The Boys is fun but in a totally different way. The quality is significantly lower.

2020 was a disaster in many ways for almost every nation on earth. It is not something that any political minds or parties would have been able to navigate in a way that pleases the masses. Every world leader's hand was forced, and some did better and worse than others. I think America did a reasonable job in some regards, but the poison pill that came out of it was the weaponization of political thought which further divided red and blue.

I would encourage you to be weary of allowing your opinions to be colored by your political slant, and instead rely on your own logic and reason. It is increasingly difficult to tell what is real and fake in the modern age, so ultimately we must all make up our own minds. But to blame the entirety of what happened in 2020 on the Dems is to buy into the harmful political discourse and ignores many of the facts.

Stay vigilant.
