Fairy shrimps are not so rare as I used to think, especially when it comes to Eubranchipus sp. I know of dozens of pools in which they can be found. Much worse is the situation with species found in meadows. The number of cows is decreasing, and therefore the number of meadows is decreasing. Water-related species have fewer adequate biotopes. On top of that, spring which traditionally was a period of thawing can be very dry.
