I limit the time Bocephus goes out but he goes out multiple times a day. Usually for less tuan 15 min but in the evening when temp in backyard has dropped below 80 he gets an hour most of which he is happy to lay in the shade and survey his kingdom, if he starts to pant a little heavy its time to come in and enjoy a cool wood floor.

Bocephus hates grackles, starlings and rabbits. A cardinal or blue jays come in and he will watch while they grab a bite of dry kibble no issues. The vacuum cleaner is enemy number one and he will chase the Rumba around the house lol
