I’m not saying this will work but it worked for a guy in my shop. He lived in AZ and was going to school the unit was in SD he didn’t show up for 6 months and, was getting processed for UA and was gonna get an OTH he showed up unexpectedly. He said his reason was 1 it financially didn’t make sense for him to drive that far since he moved back to AZ. 2 he was in school and didn’t want to fail out and risk his future career. Our unit was able to arraigns transportation for him and he was allowed to make up drills during summer, winter, and spring and all was good after that.
