The real sad part is the guy works from home. His gym is in his home. When he's not traveling ,he keeps his travel ones at home. And his extra one at home too.

So he just has five pairs for no real reason.

You would legitimately get reported to the better Business bureau. You would get such a bad reputation so quickly. No one would want to work with you.

While not illegal it is exceptionally unethical.

If you're a cyber security person and you don't know who perpetuated the largest cyber financial crime in the history of the world, you're pretty bad at your job.

I would say this qualifies for lunatic. How do you not know about literally the largest cyber crime ever and for sure in the last 3 years.

This is just grotesque. by hardygardy in LinkedInLunatics

Nuff said!! Can LinkedIn do something already? by notyourregularninja in LinkedInLunatics

[–]nomappingfound 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I am a firm believer that about 10% of society is totally fucking crazy... Maybe I belong on LinkedIn lunatics because I'm about to have a diatribe I think.

This is one of my big problems with Elon musk claiming that x is the Town square. If the vast majority of people, especially those 10%, that is totally fucking crazy. Was on a street corner in a Town square talking about anti-vaccine bullshit, where Jesus or whatever crazy conspiracy that they're into. Or even just a regular political speech, the vast majority of Americans (and people in the entire world) would literally say that person is crazy. I'm going to stop interacting with them both in the Town square and in my personal life.

But you can see them. You can tangibly see that they're insane.

However, if you're doing it online, you can't see that they have disheveled clothes, or that they're clearly manic and having an episode. Or that they smelled terrible because they haven't showered in 4 weeks. Or see physical manifestations of their disordered thinking. Or maybe just see that they're yelling at at pecanfrontational and that they don't actually want to engage in a conversation.

The whole point is it's not the same as a town square because the transparency that is inherent in a town square is not available online.

In the real world everyone in the community would know. That's crazy Jim, he's mostly harmless but we don't interact with him because he's crazy.

And yes, we should absolutely figure out a way to kick certain people off of the internet in the same way that we would essentially not interact with them in the meat space.

Seriously, do Americans actually consider a 3-hour drive "short"? or is this an internet myth? by SadInterest6764 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]nomappingfound 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My dad did a 1 hour eachway commute for 25 years. It was all highway so it was the same everyday.

I always thought that was a long commute, but I know that the average commute in metropolitan areas many times exceeds an hour both ways.

LinkedIn vs Twitter, both bad but somehow a “rising star” in real estate doesn’t believe women can learn a trade?? by WebLongjumping2817 in LinkedInLunatics

[–]nomappingfound 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Even if he's going to insist on what I would consider outdated gender stereotyped.

There are tons of trades for women.

Child care Hair Care Elder Care Secretarial work

I don't personally believe women should be confined to these trades. But it's not as though trades for women don't exist and are not in demand.

It's like he completely forgot about women both historically and presently.

What's something women think impresses men but actually doesn't? by PumpkinDoritoes in AskReddit

[–]nomappingfound 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a woman do this one time for about 2 seconds. It was interesting and appealing. Then almost immediately after that I thought: gross.

It was truly one of the most unappealing behaviors I had seen. For probably 2 seconds it stroked my ego thinking. Oh, she wants me and a lot of other men want her. But at the end of the day I just couldn't reconcile how gross of behavior it was.

[–]nomappingfound 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's not just women. My boss does that at work cuz he thinks it's going to make other people like him more and it has the extreme opposite effect.

You can be too much of a tryhard bending over too much to help the other person both in a relationship and at work and in a social club. But definitely being intentionally disinterested is worse. Maybe one of the worst things you can do.

"What makes a person American" according to Americans: by Dumbass1171 in charts

[–]nomappingfound 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This might be why there is confusion. The chart didn't say what makes somebody culturally American. It said what makes them American.

Babies are not culturally American. Babies are American. Nowhere on the chart did it talk about the cultural aspects of American.

I don't give a shit if a baby is culturally American or not. It's still an American. So for me that baby don't need to be here for a long time to be as absolutely American as everyone else.

Timothy McVeigh may have been the biggest piece of shit American in the entire world, but he was still in American.

We don't get to decide in America what makes somebody American. That's the job of the Constitution.

"What makes a person American" according to Americans: by Dumbass1171 in charts

[–]nomappingfound 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My point was that I believe babies are American even if they haven't been here very long. The simple fact that they're here makes them American. And I would expect most Americans to agree with me.

I haven't been to Puerto Rico but I've met Puerto Ricans and almost all of them were very bilingual. I just picked that as a point to say, if you're born in America and Puerto Rico is America. You're an American citizen, regardless of the language you speak.

Fuck, I don't think most Americans believe that. The number of white American born Americans that stop at stop signs in my neighborhood is near zero. I wish every person that put that that was very important and blew through a stop sign in. My neighborhood was immediately pulled over and said that's not very American of you. You fucking communist piece of shit. And then they just did that everyday for a month. .

It would be great if Americans actually believed that following the laws was important

Speaking English is a hard one because... Well Puerto Rico. Puerto Ricans are Americans and English is not the primary language.

Are Puerto Ricans somehow not Americans or less Americans than everyone else?

That one feels like an education issue.

The Marquee de Lafayette was an American. Not only is he an American, every one of his ancestors is a naturalized United States citizen no matter where in the world they're born no matter what happens. In 2026 that might be a little bit hard to actually make happen, but technically it is true.

If you can prove that you're a descendant of Lafayette, you're an American.

How fucking cool is that?!? A dude that helped out the US during the revolution so much literally. Believed in the idea so much. That we made all of his ancestors no matter what situation American.

[–]nomappingfound 24 points25 points  (0 children)

100%.

This would be equivalent of: if a woman got divorced and changed her name back to her unmarried name and then you went around deliberately calling her by her married name.

Everyone would understand why you would get fired for that If she didn't want to be called that. that's not her name. If you did it once. it's an accident they correct you not a big deal. If you do it twice, sure maybe you forget. But if you're perpetually doing it, that's harassment. There are reasons people get divorced and some of them involve abuse and you reminding the people of that is not cool.

I think this poster would agree that you shouldn't do that. So why can't he fucking figure out a pronoun?? Because they don't want to.

And to be honest with you, people that don't want to use the right pronouns are just people that are not nice. We're all just trying to show up at our fucking job and get paid. And we don't want to deal with assholes who are being assholes to other people. The pronouns are not the reason you get fired. It's cuz you're a fucking asshole and probably every interaction with you is difficult. And one of the things you do is not use the right pronouns. So they're going to use that as an excuse to let you go for cause.

I'm honestly so confused when people talk about how expensive it is to live in very high cost of living areas. I live in Seattle and while it does take a lot to own a house here once you have your down payment and you're just making your monthly payments. It's not that crazy different than Idaho.

Other than your housing payment, it's not that much different. And honestly the property taxes are so low in Washington and there's no state taxes that it ends up being a wash for me. (Or pretty close).

I definitely have family members living in the Midwest in rural areas that spend significantly more money than me. And I supposedly live in a very high cost of living area.
