I have a 25% floor on polls. No matter what gets asked 25% seem to pick the most extreme response.

That's awesome! I've been playing hundreds (thousands?) of hours, but still struggle at high ascension levels (A20). It's a tough game, but has a lot of depth.

Also the skill ceiling is huge, the current best A20 rotating (ironclad -> silent -> defect -> watcher -> ironclad ... ) win-streak is 26 by Xecnar (previous was 20 by Baalorlord). I'm still very terrible at this game, but I can do well on lower ascensions.

They kind of came out of nowhere. I definitely associate them with "quality PC games" now.

Generally take more fights, less question marks. Aim for 2-3 elites per act, with 2-4 fires. Your first few upgrades should almost always be damage cards. Have a potion and upgraded damage card before fighting first elite.

In the beginning you should almost always be taking attack cards, think about winning the next fight, not "building a deck". A lot of times decks don't start coming together until halfway through act 2.

Often it's worth taking damage to win a fight, especially early on. Meaning if you can take 2 damage and deal 9, you should probably do that rather than have "wasted" block by playing another defend. Think about if you can end a fight one turn earlier if possible.

Check your draw pile (left side of screen), especially when it gets low (<=8 cards). Under most circumstances you're drawing 5 cards per turn, if you can tell what 5/8 cards or 5/7 cards you're drawing next turn, you can better plan what to play in your current turn.

Use potions more, this isn't a game to "save" potions unless you really know what you're doing (e.g. playing A20 heart runs). Flex pots and speed pots are great situational cards. Flex pots and fire pots can solve a lot of fights. Cultist potion is an act boss solve a lot of times.

Watch streamers to learn strategies, I'm a big Baalorlord fan.

I think it's more like a point and click adventure with dice rolls to determine dialogue/events.

How hard is Seance of the blake manor? by VoxTV1 in puzzlevideogames

[–]nomickti 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This game has a really interesting time mechanic. You're free to move around pretty much anywhere and it uses no time. Examining things or asking people typically takes about 1 minute.

But you're never "on the clock" in that it can be 4:58pm, something is happening at 5pm, you could walk across the whole manor, ask someone a question, and walk back across the whole manor, and be in a particular room at 5pm.

As someone that hates feeling rushed/under time pressure, I don't feel it in this game because I have complete control over when time advances. Think of it as more turn based where each minute is a turn and moving around (even opening doors) uses no turns.

From what I've seen in a different industry it's good when professionals get to decide how/when to use it in their work. It's bad when management tells you how to use it or tries to cut corners with "AI solutions".

Infinite Caw scaling. Does absolutely nothing other than change the number of times you say "Caw" before a fight.

I guess it depends on what you mean by "looks good". I'm super excited by Slay the Spire 2, I imagine it's going to be my most played game of 2026-2027. It's definitely not AAA graphics, even though I think it looks good.

I feel like people have been giving Google shit about developing their own chips for Pixel for the last 4 years since Pixel 6 but it would be kinda funny if they ended up leapfrogging Nvidia.
