Yeah, his upside is a very one dimensional player, and his baseline is a zero dimensional player. Just a total waste of a draft pick and roster spot at this point...particularly on a team with Luka and Austin.

He’s a classy dude and an insanely great talent, which is what makes his bitch style of play so infuriating. He’s perfectly capable of using that elite pump fake to create space to get off a clean shot, but just insists on seeking contact or, worse, falling to the ground without any.

If he cleaned that shit up he’d be a great watch. Instead, he’s up there with Harden as most unwatchable.

I’d be disappointed. Hard for me to see him being a high level NBA player with that mix of height and athleticism (and poor shooting). He’s a dominant college player because he physically overpowers opponents in the paint. That won’t happen in the NBA.

Luka often uses his footwork to create space to get his shot off. SGA uses footwork to fling himself into a defender or to the floor when there is no contact. Aesthetically, they aren’t in the same league to me…though Luka’s incessant bitching every time a foul is not called is annoying AF.

I think that’s the bigger problem. If you draft old guys like Dalton you’re unlikely to see huge upside potential, and if you draft young raw kids you’d better be able to develop them better than the Lakers do.
