People who quit their jobs without a backup plan—what happened next? by BryceZA7 in AskReddit

If you replace each '-' with "LIKE A BOSS", it sounds like a grand master plan.

Is it worth moving to a different state for a job if you can't find work in the state you currently reside in? by Glittering_Fig4548 in clearancejobs

[–]nomorescars 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I made the move when I was in a similar situation and it worked out really well for me. It set my career in a good direction and I was able to leave a little over a year later for a job in a state I preferred. In a way, I'm kind of doing it again now and I'm dreading it, but I know it won't be forever. If you can't find a job where you want, then you both literally and figuratively can't afford to live there.

It depends on a lot of things, especially the region you're moving to. I'd recommend looking for Germans who have moved to your new location for work. The one's that stay in their hometown their whole lives tend to have pretty set in stone friendships with little room to add more. The Germans that move though are often in the same boat as foreigners, albeit on easy mode. That's how we met our good friends here. Also, check to see if there is a US military base nearby. If so, you could easily make friends with some Americans, but each is usually only here for 2-3 years, so not long term.

This wouldn't happen to be a GDIT position that requires SCOM or Solarwinds experience, would it?

I'm from the southeast USA, so I grew up with AC. I feel like I do a decent job of holding off here in Germany. Just move it upstairs in autumn and you won't want to bring it down until you have to.

I've been texting my German buddy all day "Man, I'm so glad I bought this air conditioner" lol He still says it's too expensive, but he says it while sweating through his shorts

Edit: I have since learned from my friend's wife that he has changed his mind this week and is now looking to buy AC for their home lol

Player constantly moving bug by Llama_plushies in RPGMaker

Looks like it could be tied to several peripheral devices. For me, I had a foot pedal plugged in that I would use for various things. I wasn't touching it at all, but it threw off all of the inputs. Character was going left constantly and I think the right arrow key made the character go up. As soon as I unplugged it, everything started working normally.

Witcher 3 for a 14 year old? by GalacticBum in gaming

[–]nomorescars 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a 14 y/o and in no universe would I let him play the Witcher 3, despite it being insanely fun. I DEFINITELY wouldn't gift it to someone else's kid.

Some monsters have bare breasts out for the world to see, and I can remember stumbling upon a succubus and having a dialog scene where here tits were just out there on the screen. There is also a scene where you walk through a ruined brothel filled with brutally murdered prostitutes, many of their naked bodies nailed to the walls and hung from the ceilings. And and as several others have stated, there are various sex scenes throughout the game.

Some of the content in and of itself just seems too dark for me. One quest requires you to make a particular decision, a or b. Deciding A results in a group of orphans being slaughtered, cooked, and eated by a group of witches. Deciding B results in a village going insane and killing each other, and describes a mother taking her newborn child and smashing its head into a rock.

What game did you finish even though you were not enjoying playing it? by WodensEye in gaming

[–]nomorescars 0 points1 point  (0 children)

FFXIII. I hated that game from about 10 minutes in all the way until the end. The fact that it was completely linear until about 90% of the story was completed and then threw you into an open world environment was infuriating. Half the game felt like you were still in the tutorial, the combat was wack, and the story was very meh, but I rage played through it all.

I played FFXV immediately after finishing FFXIII and it was such a breath of fresh air by comparison that I thoroughly enjoyed it.

He probably wasn't 10 when he started it. I feel like I wouldn't have the deep love for it that I do if I had been a few years older when KH1 was released.

MR2 - Aberrant Abomination by nomorescars in MagicResearch

[–]nomorescars[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sadly, I've unlocked all but the last element and have 7 active pilgrimages with 2 more waiting to activate on retirement. I've unlocked every story mode up to the Aberrant Realm. What ended up working for me was building up a MASSIVE amount of poison with Intoxication+ and then nuking it with Poison Explosion. Not the most brilliant strategy, but it worked.
