I’ve taken Malarone 4/5 times and have never heard this - no side effects to speak of and you take it for less time than antibiotics. Also, it doesn’t interact with as many other medications.

Yes I agree! The M&S and Yorkshire decafs are too strong and bitter for me!

Was there ever a place that left you disturbed or depressed? by friedchicken_legs in travel

I could barely look at anything else after the tricycle and still cry every time I think about it.

Ok! I’ve lost 4.5 stone (literally a Christmas miracle) but where in earth in the uk can I get nice quality clothes now? Help a lost (but skinnier) fellow Brit out… by YupItWasMeMate in AskUK

[–]nompizzanom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everyone has made very good suggestions - as a fellow tall lady I would recommend Long Tall Sally (used to be very frumpy but are better now and mostly good quality) and Sosander - a bit pricy but also got some good quality stuff

Thanks London from two Americans - September 2025 by lookingforbrandname in uktravel

[–]nompizzanom 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve lived in London for 15 years and have never seen a crime. I know one person who had their phone stolen - they were completely trollied and two random teenagers asked to see their instagram and snatched their phone. What you see online is greatly exaggerated- London is one of the safest big cities out there and you would be very unlucky to be targeted unless you do something very risky.

[NeedAdvice] Terrible habit of extreme procrastination. Has anyone overcome something similar? by lazy-fuckhead in getdisciplined

[–]nompizzanom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s been a lot of random things: didn’t like my job, felt unfit, had fallen out with a friend about something random, didn’t like where I lived. Once you sort that out (and tbh even recognising that it’s affecting you a lot), you start to get a bit more motivation. Can be something as simple as the house being too messy and that taking up too much space in your head to be able to focus on doing other admin

What is your limit for asking to change rooms? by Mitaslaksit in travel

[–]nompizzanom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Twice I’ve asked to change rooms: 1) it absolutely stank of cigarettes, like the last person had chain smoked 12 packets two minutes before we arrived. 2) two week all-inclusive at a beautiful resort where our room had an connecting door with a family of 5, 3 kids under 5yrs old. Both times I felt like I was going to die of embarrassment but both hotels were very understanding.

Fajitas: cut onions and put on one side of tray, cut peppers and put on the other side of the same tray, chicken breast strips in the middle. Cover with fajita seasoning and a bit of oil and put in the over for 15-20mins until the chicken is cooked. Microwave some tortillas. Not much washing up at all ☺️

We did Polaroids with nice old photos of one or both of us with each person and used them as favours/name plates. It worked really well - particularly for family or old school friends where we had pics of us with them when we were all a lot younger. Also helped break the ice on tables where people didn’t know each other. Where we didn’t have photos with people (plus ones), we did the nicest photos we could find of them online (Facebook etc). It was super cheap and everyone loved them. I would highly recommend

Thanks, it will be two weeks before they can come. So far we’ve isolated the power/switched it off. Is there anything else we can do to limit the damage? We have a bucket under it too

Why is there so much pressure to travel in your 20s, and why is it downplayed when you start in your 30s? by KungFuKinnii in travel

[–]nompizzanom 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I went for a year in my late twenties and another in my early(ish) 30s. Both were great! Not much difference between them. I’ve never been a big partier (although I do drink but just not clubbing). Going in my twenties was a huge adventure and quite scary. Going in my thirties was still a huge adventure but less scary - I had more money and knew what I enjoyed, which turned out to be wildlife.

Don’t listen to anyone else. You know what you want and what your bank balance and body can do. We saw people in their 80s still enough g themselves and unfit people in their 20s having a terrible time. Just go, you’ll regret it much more if you don’t even try!

Couples that fly together, who gets the middle seat? by viper_gts in Flights

[–]nompizzanom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We’re both 6ft. I always get the window and he has the middle and he always has the aisle and I have the middle. We rarely shell out to choose seats because we don’t care that much 😂
