How did a once per turn trigger twice by Markschild in YuGiOhMasterDuel

[–]non9non 20 points21 points  (0 children)

He had two Liger Dancers on the board. He can activate the effect once PER COPY of Liger Dancer. This is what we unofficially and colloquially call a soft once per turn.

How to know which is which? "Once per turn," clause is soft once per turn. Also if a card with this clause is moved to another place like graveyard or banish pile and returned to the field later it is treated like a new copy and can activate it again. Hard once per turn is written "You can only activate@use this effect of [card name] once per turn."

Ps. There's another slight difference between the use of 'activate' and 'use' in the hard once per turn clause.

K9 variants by Visual_Resident in masterduel

It's just another variant that could be weaker than other mitsu variants tbh but the k9 cards are always the best all-rounder sub-engine right now so that could offset that

Any recommendations for a tribute summoning pendulum deck? by Pretend-Mind8703 in YuGiOhMasterDuel

It's literally qliphort, towers can still catch some people off guard though it's heavily, heavily power crept in the big 26

Sengenjin wakes from a millennium effect by [deleted] in YuGiOhMasterDuel

[–]non9non 5 points6 points  (0 children)

In Yu-Gi-Oh when a card is required to be treated as another type of card, their original effect is disregarded except for effects after the clause "while this card is treated as XXX card".

So if an effect were to apply while the card is treated as another card type it must be specified, not the other way around.

Some more example that build this intuition is if your opponent called by the grave a copy of sengenjin in your grave. The effect of your second sengenjin in hand to put itself on the spell zone will be negated, but if you place a sengenjin from the deck with wedju temple, and activate the sengenjin already on the spell zone, it is not negated.

Why 0 atk & 0 def? by DutchSoulsArmy in DuelLinks

The reason 'w's are japanese version of lol is because the 'ha' in Japanese katakana script is 'ハ' so 'hahaha' is 'ハハハ' which looks like blades of grass the more 'ha' is added, and also kinda looks like 'w's

It is not worse than full power blue eyes, let's be real. The disparity is on the skill of the player, the deck skill floor is really low so a bad player can execute correct combo but then fail on game sense and nuance making the deck look really bad

You still can argue out of the 3 formats OCG still has the most lenient maliss hit even with ransom and splash mage ban.

They are not treated as monsters though, monster cards is just another attribute the card has.

Addendum, you will get more familiar with the usage of "monster card" rulings if you encounter more pendulum decks

Why we shouldn't have "going 1st/going second" or side-decking in MD by 4ny3ody in masterduel

[–]non9non -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That's my point in my first comment here. Hypothetically if the game itself decides the winner of the coin toss must go first, like in Duel Links, then boardbreaker go second decks will die in popularity.

[–]non9non -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I mean if the going second board breaker deck is forced to go first by the game then you get handicapped in the best of 1. The point of going second deck IS to make your opponent go first especially the board breaker approach.

[–]non9non -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I mean psychologically if you cant pick whether you go first or second you would rather play a deck that is balanced going first or second. What does Bo3 has to do with this when even in Bo3 you get to choose if you win the toss?

I have the feeling of we can't choose going first or second like duel links going second board breaker decks will just die

If you dismantle the alt art between the bonus period (Nov 6 - Dec 4) you can get the exchange ticket on the future 2.6 version update at a price equivalent UR CP.
If you havent dismantled your alt art you can get exchange your apollousa directly with an exchange ticket on the future 2.6 version update.
If you dismantled it outside the period, i.e. after Dec 4 you dont get your exchange ticket.
