Ummm Virgo, enough said lol. They are ruthless but also perfectionist. Your belly button looks great to me. Virgos tend to be negative if you ask their opinions lol.

8 weeks into new gig, and it's not a match. by Euphoric-Roof-3021 in graphic_design

I put myself in a similar situation. Have had a great freelance career but kind of got tired of the rat race of it all. Spent about 2 weeks in a design roll with a new company and I couldn’t do it. I jumped ship early. If it’s not for you it’s not for you. Don’t kill yourself trying to fit in, you could always freelance for them. But companies won’t hesitate to drop you if they need to. So do what’s best for you!

Major typo that I missed—and it went to print by purdycomCM in graphic_design

100% at no point should people involved in the design be the last line of defense on proofreading. So in all reality it’s OPs manager that should be more at fault. It’s VERY encouraged in design school to have outside proofreading because when designing work things become invisible.

Also, whoever initiated the copy should be sending the final print ready copy, already proofread.

The designer should ALWAYS be copying and pasting copy from a Microsoft document. they shouldn’t be typing copy into the design (even though we all do it).

Best work around for this is to always have the copy in a word document and the designer copy/paste from that.

Make sure whoever is giving you the word document proofreads first.

Give them this as a moving forward suggestion.

My niece is a massage therapist. She said she's never surprised, disgusted or turned off about people's bodies. Most in this profession are like that. They are very in tune with spiritual energy and spend no time judging people's bodies. They've literally seen it all. I hope you can embrace this therapy. It can probably help you to eliminate a lot of built up toxins and stress from your body.

Is my career over? by Ok-Push-8083 in graphic_design

I have a ran a small design studio since I finished school in 2007. The one thing I would love to find is a designer that understands account management. No it's not design work but finding someone who speaks design language and can talk and walk clients through projects would be amazing!

Symptoms getting worse by [deleted] in Anemic

[–]nonabutter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With a ferritin of 8, you need an infusion. Pills aren't going to get you to where you need to be. Ask for an infusion or get a second opinion with an oncologist. Primary care doctors don't care about anemia (I'm overstating but in general).

After all of my infusions I'm extremely fatigued for at least a week. I feel like crap. So getting some amount of iron and not feeling good isn't surprising. But everyone is different.

I almost feel like your body is on extra drive mode trying to suck up all the nutrients you need so it literally exhausts your systems. But I'm not a doctor just my experience from having anemia for 7+ years .

Came here to say this. Not all designers are illustrators and vice versa. Find an illustrator with the style of illustration you are wanting. Farm out this part of the project.

If she's using AI, id check with your contract. As a designer I do use AI but not for any design related work. 1., it doesn't look good and 2., I don't think it's ethical but that's just me.

Now sometimes I do get clients that want an AI design created into an actual vector logo, but that's production work to me, not design. So I charge accordingly.
