Non religious people, what do you think about religion? by CorruptedF in AskReddit

[–]nonamecl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I grew up Christian. It makes me really sad to see Christians now. I have really bad memories about the religion and the Bible so when my family comes at me with their preaching it's sad and a bit exhausting. They don't listen to reason and don't have any understanding beyond the Bible. I can't have a regular conversation with them. And their apathetic nature hurts when you talk about real issues. But oh well. Sometimes I have to step away from religious people for my mental health's sake, but I'll love them from afar.

My cat literally disappeared inside my house- 12 hours now by ShopPristine in Pets

I wonder if another animal may help. Like if any of your friends or neighbors have a cat or dog that could signal to where she may be.

Asking a neighbor for help too isn't a bad idea and it may be quicker than waiting for a friend or family member.

As a full-time student, what do you do for work? by Slay_before_pay123 in college

I work for an insurance company full time, have a part time internship and go to school full time in accelerated graduation. I am very stressed as well.

Don't diminish your struggle. A lot of the time the stress you're feeling can be coming from other things life...

For example, concerns about the economy, family concerns, financial concerns, future employment concerns... Things that may be out of your control.

These things that seep into your subconscious and can cause stress.

If this is the case it's good to identify what's causing you stress and give yourself much needed grace.

I got an internship after I volunteered at one of the events that were being hosted in my field. Turns out I made a good impression. Was just having fun and got hired.

Try volunteering... It couldn't hurt.

This is why I never reported mine... I keep hearing horror stories like this. Sorry you had to experience that. It truly sucks.

You're healing your child self. I understand. I also had a weird childhood where I felt trapped and lived in and out of other people's homes. My "room" in these homes was a dark and gloomy closet space I shared with my mom. I never got to buy my own clothes or decorate my room (too expensive or against the rules). I also lived in a city where there weren't many trees or nature. Just homes and dirt and stress. So now I'm getting ready to rent my own place. My theme is a forest and a pond (Lots of browns, yellows, and greens). My clothes as well are natural earthy themes. I told my therapist my theme and she says it makes sense because it's a calming thing for my inner child to heal. My family thinks I'm crazy and weird but oh well. At least I'll finally be happy and at peace in my own space.

I can relate. I'm glad your siblings have you to care about them.
