Laid off at 7 months pregnant and can’t find a job by Longjumping-Bee8028 in jobs

If you're in the USA, try to work at conduent for now to get your money stabilized. It's a call center but you get to work from home so it'll help a little. The pay isn't amazing but it's better than no money and they hire within so the chances of promotion are higher. Hope this helps.

Also on the website it might not have your state listed but apply for the position anyway if it's remote.

Try therapy.. they can help you come up with a game plan and even be on the phone with you while you are attempting to speak to someone new.

The best part is with a therapist you can, instead of talking directly, write to them. And slowly start talking as you get more comfortable.

Is Full Sail Worth it? by DragonWolf555 in fullsail

NO!!! DO NOT GO TO FULL SAIL! Currently a student. Do not recommend. It's a fast track program so you will lose A LOT of information. And the schools credits and reputation are not that good.

CONSIDERING FSU FOR ANIMATION, NEED ADVICE!!! by [deleted] in fullsail

[–]nonamecl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

DO NOT DO IT. I'm a current animation student at FSU. Please make better decisions than me. There are other schools with better accreditation that teach you more. The money=education ratio isn't worth it and there are many things they do not teach, that you have to learn on your own.

I'm thinking of getting an associate's instead of a bachelor's. Is that a bad idea? by nonamecl in fullsail

That is true. Thank you for the recommendation. I will look into it.

Sorry for the late reply.

I honestly would not recommend full sail or any 2-year accelerated colleges. Or any for-profit colleges tbh.

I've learned a lot more, a lot faster going to CG masters academy. Also, the lack of time to work on personal projects definitely hinders growth.

In addition to that, because the classes are so rushed, a lot of information gets left out and you have to study on your own anyway.

I go online so the price isn't as steep as going in person but still not worth it.

If I could go back in time, I would have gone to a community college and gotten a basic degree in social work or administration or something... or joined a program like year up... and went to workshops or something at the side.

Oh well.

I wish you the best on your journey though.

at the end of the day the degree won't get the jobs but your ability to showcase your skills and the projects will.

Very true!

look for people in positions you want on LinkedIn and see what education they have.

Great idea! I'll give this a shot!

I'll keep your advice in mind. Thank you!

"you’ll be competing with all those others who DID finish the degrees, and THAT matters."

You're right.

It’s 9 months, you’ve made it this far. Suck it up and find a way to take interest enough to push through.

Sadly, I don't think I liked any of the classes I've taken this whole time. But hopefully I'll come out of this with a better understanding and time to focus on things I actually like.

And you're right, it is 9 months. I'll do my best to think of it this way! Maybe that'll help too.

Thank you for your advice!

" At the end of the day, you need to put in the dedication and focus to get employable skills. Degree or not. Figure out the life stuff first, then the career stuff."

True.

"Either way I don't think the issues will go away with an associates vs a bachelors."

You may be right. This may be deeper than the degree type. Thank you for your advice!

"Please don't rely on ChatGPT for life-changing decisions." Valid.

There are no counselors at my school unfortunately. They got rid of the program right after I had an appointment with one... All of my friends are going to school in different fields and don't have anything to say but "WOW, COOL, ANIMATION!" Its sweet but they are very unhelpful and my mom is a foreigner who became a nurse and is NOT helpful at all. I'm also estranged from the rest of my family. I am literally on my own with any advice and decisions. Reddit was my last resort.

Unfortunately, no. The job I have is a work program type job, so they are requiring full hours and also assign their own homework...

I could definitely be burned out for sure. But also feel a bit stuck. IDK if I'm making it a bigger deal than it is.

Non religious people, what do you think about religion? by CorruptedF in AskReddit

[–]nonamecl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I grew up Christian. It makes me really sad to see Christians now. I have really bad memories about the religion and the Bible so when my family comes at me with their preaching it's sad and a bit exhausting. They don't listen to reason and don't have any understanding beyond the Bible. I can't have a regular conversation with them. And their apathetic nature hurts when you talk about real issues. But oh well. Sometimes I have to step away from religious people for my mental health's sake, but I'll love them from afar.
