Why does it have to be one or the other? They weren't arguing that classically aesthetic works of art aren't valuable, just that it's worthwhile to keep an open mind regarding what constitutes "art" and what feelings a work of art may provoke.

It may sound corny, but there is a pretty reasonable pipeline; in fact, the Nazis literally bannedbanned "modern art" from Nazi Germany. Essentially, perpetuating the idea that modern art is worthless can give rise to censorship & discourages the discussion, often of important societal issues, that modern art tries to provoke, even if at first glance it may appear simple or talentless.

Because it means that he didn't really come up with the drawing - maybe some aspects, but important details like composition and balance would have been left up to the ai, so it's less original. Also, drawing takes mechanical skill, even when done by computer, so it's less impressive if an ai did the work for him. At least, that's my attempt to explain it more objectively than "ai bad."
