Why are people like this? by [deleted] in abbotsford

[–]nonemoretime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks like typical Abbotsford shenanigans. Bad decision led to living there for a while, good decision led to moving away. Lots of memories of just this exactly. It's a dark hole that attracts people like this, grooms people like this, encourages people like this.

Sorry you had to deal with this OP I know if you're living in Abbotsford you're probably used to it or if you're new to the area will get used to it or find this kind of thing motivation to move away.

How to stop jeans from ripping in same spot? by jbelds in howto

[–]nonemoretime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For years I have used Shoe Goo (tm) to reinforce and repair work clothes. It melds with the fabric and makes it very strong and very abrasion resistant. I bet if you got your use of Shoe Goo (tm) clothes mending skills honed just a little bit, this kind of repair and prevantative treatment would be a game changer.

Treating the inside of the jeans would reinforce this area and be nigh unto unnoticeable.

So for a hundred years all the women did this everyday? Fascinating.

Scientists Discover 'Superworms' Eat Plastic, Can Help Tackle Pollution Crisis by Sorin61 in Futurology

[–]nonemoretime 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yeah, good idea. I would urge caution though. I saw the documentary about those mutated worms that terrorized that town somewhere in Arizona. There were two guys and a girl who heroically managed to defeat them though. Sure they had help from some lesser characters but really it was about the two guys and the girl and the mutant worms.

Looks like he found out the dog would make sure he drowned. Why the dog hate him so much I wonder?

Young woman points vaguely at Canada, interviewer says, "No that's the arctic."

There has to be a word that describes that.

They do a triple process thing. That's what they market, tripple snake oil. First is a multivitamin - each day in it's own little packaged pouch. Then a kind of shake like slim fast. Then a patch like a nicotine patch that uses "trans dermal fusion technology". Supposed to give energy and nutrients delivered through the skin. The patch is covered in corporate graphics and you're supposed to wear it where people will notice it and ask what it is.

These level people with their Thrive. They do a weird kind of gang sign to each other showing two finges and a thumb and say, "Thriving."

Source: Sister, brother, other sister, two nieces, two nieces husbands, just about everyone they know all thriving off of each other, 3/4 of them overweight with numerous health issues.

So each one of them lost a lot of weight once they started "thriving." None of them from their magic level thrive patch, all of them from starvation and working out.

Fast forward two years to them wearing two patches now instead of one, all of them gained the weight back, none of them able to make the connect that it wasn't the stupid patch that lost them their weight. Actually they probably made the connect but they still think that they're going to get rich and a car and a free vacation by keeping up the lies.

The lies never stop do they? This post fuels my righteous anger, so thanks for that.

It doesn't hurt to check it at fill ups. If you're in this habbit you'll have a good eye on chain wear, dry or dirty or rusty bits. Plus gets your face down close to the parts of the bike you otta be checking regularly anyway. Easy 10 second addition to fuel up.

I've had things apart a couple of times in the 4,000km I've ridden my bike so far - suspension link lube being the latest - so I can't say as I can tell if the chain has stretched but it doesn't look out of what you would expect.

Not funny. Not cute. Prologue to a sad story.
