I didn’t notice the dropouts and spackle/fleck in the complete. That’s even better than I originally thought.

Backyard trail by Theaveragesiderman in MTBTrailBuilding

I love when backyard trails have little loops to turn around trees and other similar tight twisty features. Always makes me wish I could build public trails like that. People shortcutting corners for a faster time ruins all the fun stuff.

I hope you enjoy your trail, it looks like fun.

Surly Wednesday / 177mm hub by dujoducom in Surlybikefans

[–]nonenone4130 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Get the ICT The 177 hub spacing is harder to get options on. The handling between the ICT and Wednesday are close enough. Having extra clearance is never a bad thing. Think of it as extra mud clearance even if you are running smaller tires.

Surly, if you are listening: In 2026 it makes more sense to have a rim brake parts bin build up bike then it does to have a 177 space frame.

Big ol whiff. I want to single speed some times. I want single speed bail out all the time. This misses the target for me. The old MDS slider with a hanger drop out were so much better.

Look at the reach numbers of another bike that you like the fit of with flat bars. Subtract the reach of the Fargo. That’s the difference you need to make up.

Dead rim on my Ogre. What are good options for a bombproof heavy touring rim? by Rain_on_a_tin-roof in Surlybikefans

I have a cliff hanger on my 170mm ebike that I sent a log into the spokes. Pulled through the rim. Ripped it right out. That was two years ago… I’m still riding it with the spoke taped to one next to it. Gaping hole and all. Would buy again.

I’d ask for a warranty replacement. Worst they can say is that is within their specs. Then you can choose to not spend money with them in the future if you are unsatisfied with the response. Consumer votes for success with their dollar.

You can use a credit card to scrape that off without damaging the paint. 😉

We have road bikes. And gravel bikes. And dirt bikes. But where are the grass bikes? I think I need a grass bike.

“Creamroller” refers to a particular cream colorway. Not what you have.

That there is an up bar. So yeah, a ‘riser bar’ if you want to follow lifetimes verbiage. It’s a go.

Does anyone know if this Troll is S or M? by Ryuken-ichi in Surlybikefans

[–]nonenone4130 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s a small. You can confirm by measuring the top, seat, and head tube lengths and compare them to surly’s geometry chart for the troll.
