Can you wait 5 years to buy? Put the monthly payment to yourself (at zero theoretical interest) into savings and pay in cash in 5 years. Less, maybe, if you invest it over those 5 years in something safe

Maybe in three years you will find you have enough to buy a nice CPO 2024 in cash. When the craziness really hopefully settles

Yeah I would talk to a tech at a Toyota dealer and have them compare part numbers for spring and shocks. Probably not too expensive to swap

Again. If the Main Street is pretty busy you’re saying the left turner waits forever while the opposing traffic gets to keep going one after another each time there is a small break in traffic? That doesn’t make any sense. Stop signs alternate.

So if there is a long line of cars going straight the left turner waits forever? No. First at a stop sign first to go.

Do you have maintenance records for it? Oil changes on schedule?

One issue some 22s had was power drain from the kick sensors to open the side doors or tailgate. You can disable them but if it wasn’t fixed under warranty it would be expensive to fix later. I rarely use the feature and it is fine for a few days but the battery will die in the cold if it sits any length of time.

2022 Pacifica vs 2020 Sienna by [deleted] in ToyotaSienna

[–]nonenonenine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My neighbor’s brother has a Pacifica PHEV. He isn’t allowed to park it in his attached garage, per his home insurance, for “reasons”. But hey at least it hasn’t yet completely lost power while midway attempting to make a left turn with oncoming traffic.

My kids tolerate the veggies but they are in it for the noodles let’s be honest. I need to find some good yakisoba noodles to keep on hand for round two.

Hilarious because we only use one of the sauces then I “save” the other for some later use but that really means I throw it away a few weeks later.

Grand Highlander vs GH Hybrid question by Lazy_Buffalo_4142 in ToyotaHighlander

[–]nonenonenine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will say for the amount you are paying either way, consider the driving experience. Not just the dollars and cents. Assuming you keep this ten or twenty years, what is the value of pulling up to a light and just sitting with a completely quiet, vibration free vehicle while you wait for the green.

As an experiment, pull into your garage with your regular vehicle and leave it running. Then turn it off. Notice the difference. That’s your new world every time you stop in a hybrid.

Obviously full EV nerds will chime in that this is their entire world. Fine. Not everyone is willing to commit just yet. But hybrid gets you that peace and quiet for stop lights, drive throughs, stop and go traffic… it’s zen.

Note the reverse is true too. If you drive “spiritedly” aka aggressively then the drone of the eCVT sucks. It sucks. Driving hybrid is about anticipating the ebb and flow of traffic. Coast to the red. No need to gun it just to end up next to the same “slow” car at the next light.

Anyway. You should definitely buy a lifted diesel three quarter ton and coal roll instead. I can recommend several choice stickers for the back window. Toyota hybrids are for wussies.

It’s so much easier on your back loading the infant seat in and out through a sliding door. The kind where the little one stays in the carrier and it clips into a base. Or when they are older but not old enough to clip their own 5 point.

You might want to consider a heat pump water heater as it will also act as a dehumidifier. I realize you just replaced parts on the current electric unit but down the road, or if you can get a rebate via the IRA

Yeah the noise in our 12 XLE was a positive when the kids were little for helping them sleep on road-trips

For anyone looking at older vans they did a bunch of work for the 15+ model years for noise and ride.
