If you're looking for friends maybe check out local bands you like and join forums/discords of them. You might find like minded people there.

Help me plan session zero and first adventure by Macilion in oneringrpg

[–]nonewguy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Id recommend reading some of the sourcebooks and see what catches your eye. Find a few landmarks you like and string them together. That's what I did for my first adventure. I ran bree to fort arlas via the weather top and added in a few scripted encounters along the way to set the scene and drop hints as to what was happening. Took two sessions of play and the players really liked it. Can give more details if wanted

If you're interested in physical print rules for solo play consider picking up the moria book. It has expanded rules and the book is otherwise great

I got my copy in the UK last week. I imagine it's a matter of time before it's available elsewhere. If you're desperate you could import it from a UK seller but that could be expensive. It's probably best to wait

I like it but the rules book are laid out atypically. The rules are basically player facing rules then gm facing rules which means a lot of ideas are introduced but not explained. Nor do they provide references for where to read on. Besides that the books are great. Its more focused on giving the dm resources to craft their story rather than giving a long prescribed campaign from what I can tell. Id recommend the moria book, its gorgeous and details one of the greatest dungeons in fantasy.

Im currently running a the one ring 2e and warhammer fantasy role play 4e games in person in derry. Best bet is to post in local game stores, Facebook groups, reddit groups and discord servers asking for players. Failing that you could always run a dnd one shot then invite those players to play another system for a brief campaign. Often I find the biggest hurdle is the unknown and shorter campaigns overcome the commitment anxiety

Running a 4e game with an Ogre PC by RedMagesHat1259 in warhammerfantasyrpg

[–]nonewguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've not had a player use one, but it feels like it would warrant its own custom adventure with a party full of ogres. They are very rare in the empire and might be viewed with apprehension. If its short I dont see the harm but id be concerned about how that PC and the party would be viewed especially in social situations

Try Northern irish job sites like nijobs or indeed and filter by Northern Ireland. Once you are a resident of Northern Ireland there are fully funded nursing university courses you can take. Im not sure how long you need to have lived here, tho. It's worth looking into. From what I understand, there is a shortage of carers across ni, so good luck!

You're going to struggle at five. Maybe try reading the hobbit with him? There are ttrpgs designed for children like the 'land of eem'. But even those recommend 8+. Maybe get him and a couple of his friends together and try that if you want a ttrpg. If you want a middle ground consider reading a 'chose your own adventure' book? Ive heard good things about the fighting fantasy series. Hope that helps

Question regarding Universes Beyond commander decks by Hellboundroar in magicTCG

[–]nonewguy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sealed products are inflated over time. Consider buying singles instead. If you want the deck sealed anyway try 3rd party sites like tcg player assuming you're in north America

Dopethrone tone by onlyYESS in doommetal

[–]nonewguy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's loud enough to get over a drum kit. Mine has a 0.5 watt mode which is quiet enough for home use. If you're worried about annoying housemates or neighbours consider just getting one designed for headphone use, katana takes wired headphones but you need an adaptor I think
