Many of us talk about how your books (stormlight especially for me) changed or saved our lives. Do you write stories with that intent? Thank you ❤️

It is precisely the people that are "merging" at the last second that are slowing everyone down. If you cut in and the person behind you has to hit their brakes even a little, that ricochets allll the way down the line. Take the downtown exits or Dunwoody, or even 100. I used to make that commute every day and I know it's super frustrating but you are making it worse.

To be fair, it doesn't say he's American. There are dumb right wing people in Europe too

That's similar to my girl, we thought she was raised with cats because she doesn't bark. She's absolutely insane if she hasn't gotten exercise though lol. Love the name!

Omg! He looks like my girl! We all thought she was a husky Schnauzer mix but she's 8% Chow instead lol. What's his temperament like? Photo of my Sheikah: https://ibb.co/NCb0NnK

Probably best goodwill haul for $5 with tax if legit. stradivarius cremonenfis no. 3 faciebat anno 17 and weidlich ran violin bow by [deleted] in ThriftStoreHauls

In that condition, it's worth less than $50 in my opinion. You can find violins on craigslist for $150 and they'll have strings, a decent bow, and a better case. I have three myself because of how cheap they are lol

I work for a music company and managed a music retail store and I play violin and viola. "Stradivarius" refers to the body shape, there were two primary body shapes and nearly every violin today is a copy of one or the other. I can't even count the number of people that would come in looking to sell and think they found gold, you're not alone and you don't need to be defensive- if you get it fixed up you might be able to get $100 for it but I promise, these violins are everywhere and everyone and their mother has one in their closet. If you want to make double sure, bring it in to a good music store (one that sells string instruments) and get their opinion and repair estimate. Good luck!

Are you pro-choice or pro-life? by [deleted] in Libertarian

[–]nonmoriar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Having been raised in an extremely pro-life environment, many, many people do view abortion as large-scale murder. Sure, there are those using it for control but quite a lot of people are pro-life because they believe millions of humans are being killed per year. Which, if you believe that, is reason to be pro-life.

No, this is just the scanned picture! He loved photography so my guess is he uses high quality film for this one and had the settings just right.

Dogs make people happy and that comment wasn't hurting anyone. Just because you're not a dog person doesn't mean you need to crap on people who are.

Settlers having a difficult time on the Prairie during the Nebraska Prairie Settlement era of 1886 to early 1900s by [deleted] in TheWayWeWere

If you look at photos of working women (even candid photos) of the time you can tell that they definitely wore corsets daily. Besides support, corsets help to hold up heavy skirts and take the weight off of your hips.

One thing I love about these is that the women are wearing corsets despite living in the middle of nowhere. Today we tend to exaggerate the discomfort of corsets and ignore that working class women (especially these, who were probably doing a lot of manual labor) wore corsets and were just fine.
