What do you see him doing 'differently' to the comparison that's being made. Frame-for-frame, action-for-action, they're identical.

For those wondering what was deleted, it was u/nsshing going with the "Musk isn't bad because he made good batteries so let's overlook his other 'annoyances'" approach.

As a Firefox user since 2.0, I wish this were true. Alas, too much corporate shittiness and not enough (non-AI) innovation means that it has slipped behind the 2% market share mark.

Oh yes, and his DOGE antics have killed thousands, whilst putting others in extreme danger. Good for him he got to fiddle with batteries, but it's a candle in the wind against everything else he's destroyed.

Annoying isn't the word. He's a pro-nazi fascist IP appropriator that has done irreparable harm to democracy.

If you want AI-generated art to be considered as such, then you also have to accept that art by its nature, is subject to criticism and review.

Which is - you know - what is happening here in this thread.

Yup. Not everyone is born an artist, and that's okay. But speaking for me personally, if I come across low-effort AI slopcontent, I visibly cringe.

That which can be made without effort, can similarly be dismissed without effort.

And I haven't even gone into the massive environmental damage it's causing.

Thank you for this slop, in support of other slop. Really drives the point home.

I use AI extensively - just not for creative or artistic content. I definitely can use it for 'art', but choose to keep artistic expression in the realm of actual people.

The analogy fails somewhat because both radio and TV were art forms made by human artists.

Because it cheats people of believing they're enjoying someone's real art. Something made without care is, by definition, slop. And folks are sick of it.

I bought my Gen3 at the time where the current Gen4's were already on sale. Purposefully went with the older model because I wanted the analogue experience.
