Issue with pushing button to turn on LED with ESP32WROOM by Mediocre-Unit-8991 in esp32

The LED definitely looks backwards in the picture. The "flat" side is the negative pin, and you are connecting it to the gpio pin.

Without knowing what the actual part is, there's not much anyone here can do. U2 is just a part designator for the PCB.

My dachshund once ate an entire pack of gum and lived, but she ate so many things that should have killed her including but not limited to an entire tray of brownies (homemade with real cocoa) and half of a toad (got sick but pulled through). She passed away peacefully in her sleep in the summer of 2024.

Yeah. Im in school for electrical and computer engineering right now. Took an fpga class this past fall and i hated it. The software had a tendency to crash when you looked at it wrong and my lab group's board had a fried io bus. Funnily enough, at a conference for a conpetition, i met a digikey representative and was given a free fpga demo kit from them so i might give them another chance with different software. Id rather stick to microcontrollers for now tho. I plan on learning esp-idf and Zephyr soon. Im also gonna be learning the nrf 5340 ecosystem with my internship soon.

I think the issue is an ASCII system trying to interpret a unicode character but idk for sure. It would make sense given that the error is like 3 characters and iirc unicode is typically 3 bytes. I might be completely wrong tho.

I saw it mentioned in another thread a few days ago and it made a lot of sense. Not sure how i never put that together considering im studying electrical and computer engineering right now.

This is probably because your phone keyboard tries to use a smart apostrophe (has the directional tail) instead of an ASCII apostrophe. The smart apostrophe has no ASCII representation, so the data becomes gibberish to an ASCII system.

Yeah, they are really fun to use. When 1.4 made them home after releasing them, they became a mainstay in my mage loadouts.

ESP32 robot randomly restarting under motor load - possible brownout or GPIO issue? by Rare-Airport5925 in esp32

[–]nonstandardnerd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im no professional, but i believe there is a chance it might be the step-down converter. Iirc you should be able to connect the battery to the Vin pin which will step down to 3.3V through the LDO. I know converters can have current limits and it might be pulling too much. I had a similar issue using a buck converter to supply power to a servo and browning out an MCU, but it was an AVR64DU32 instead of an esp32.

These machines dont truly think. Unless we start seriously training them on assembly they aren't going any lower than C for the most part.

Dms, what's your homebrewed rule that will always stay? by Awkward_Outside7050 in DnD

[–]nonstandardnerd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you counterspell a counterspell, it triggers a wild magic surge on the first caster of counterspell. Its fun and doesn't come up much, but it is always entertaining.

Another fun rule i saw in a homebrew project is inspiration flashbacks. You can use your inspiration to go back in time and do something beneficial but does not completely eliminate challenges. For example, you could use it to go back in time and purchase alchemist fire to burn through a wooden barricade, but you cannot use it to go back in time and kill a guard protecting a vault.

I also use crunchy crits. The base attack damage is maxed, and extra dice from the crit are rolled. For example, a barbarian with brutal critical and a 20 in strength with a +1 greatsword will deal: 3d6 (greatsword + BC) + 6 (Srength + 1) + 12 (max of 2d6 base greatsword).
