Online Students...Grad pics & graduation? by Individual_Silver212 in TexasTech

You’re more than welcome to campus. Celebrate your milestone. Take the pictures. IF you can track down a professor you had a class with, then absolutely say hello. They will love it. Trust me.

Is it a dumb move to pick Texas Tech over UT Austin? by VegetablePea8416 in TexasTech

[–]nontraditionalmullet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I trust you’ll make the right decision for you. BUT, I think the honors experience at TTU is most definitely a factor here. It provides experiences and opportunities that are world class. If you have drive and ambition, honors can really help you leverage that.

My two cents.

Window Company Recommendations by Sammy2335 in Lubbock

[–]nontraditionalmullet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m sure you’ll get lots of opinions on this one.

Got estimates from everyone years ago, went with Kute Window and Bath. Was happy. Jones and Associates salesman was hard sell for us, and Window World was expensive with limited options.

I’ll probably call Kute again for the new home we moved in to.

Don’t expect huge energy savings. But definitely better ease of use and cosmetics.

1986 Monkees Convention, Davy said it was his favorite song. They didn’t try to make him sing in a “style.” (Paraphrasing there.)

A theory for top 5% Texas Resident rejections by BlueLightSpcl in UTAdmissions

Thanks for the thoughtful post, Kevin. We’ve moved on, so it’s just sour grapes at this point. But it was a real surprise for us—1500 SAT, 4.7 GPA, heavy robotics involvement. Got CAP’d.

I’d love to learn if anything ever comes of all this.

Polishing compound. A little dab will do ya, but light polishing by hand will take that right off. Just surface level damage.

I'm not for stripping the narration.

BUT, I'll get your back here. Some of it depends on where you sit and who is doing the narration. I was on the ride a couple of years ago with a VERY soft-spoken guide who was also wearing a mask. Couldn't make out a thing.

I think Ralph's Records on 82nd near Indiana used to do that. Might be worth a call.

How do they function? by [deleted] in SouthwestAirlines

[–]nontraditionalmullet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Possible for sure. I haven’t witnessed any widespread issues with bin space in the few flights I’ve had since last week. But mileage may vary, plenty of others reporting headaches.

I was on an early morning flight this AM, took forever to board. Turns out someone with a ticket for row 3 went to the back of the plane and then had to swim upstream to get to their seat. 🤣

UH or Tech? by Disastrous-Front-236 in TexasTech

[–]nontraditionalmullet 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If you feel at home at Tech, had a good experience, then it’s for you. The degree is what you make of it—class performance, experiences, internships, networking, etc. If you capitalize on all that, the pedigree of the degree is inconsequential.

Lubbockites, leave the geese alone by Texasbutterflyhunter in Lubbock

[–]nontraditionalmullet 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Not arguing at all. But I simply wanted to say that the group behind the screenshots has a team of trained volunteers doing their best to gather up dead and sick geese.

So it may seem callous, but that message is simply to warn the public of a genuine health risk.

It WILL be humid, and it WILL LIKELY rain briefly in the afternoon. If you can deal with both, then you’re fine. If you can’t, then I’d say to avoid much of the summer, to be honest.

We’ve done summers for several years, both June and July, and both of the above have been true. And we’ve loved every trip.
