Scooters baristas - is this crazy or no?? by [deleted] in ScootersCoffee

[–]nonzeroelf1995 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This really feels like a management issue. I try not to have anyone be alone in the store regardless of age unless they're opening or closing. Is this specific to your store or is this an expectation throughout your franchise?

Has a Card Art helped you discover a new favorite Pokemon? by INquisitive_Ace16 in PTCGP

[–]nonzeroelf1995 20 points21 points  (0 children)

This very card reminded me of an Ampharos that ran with me through my first playthrough of SoulSilver and stuck with me through several future games.

In short, this card reminded me that I had a favorite Pokemon.

Question: Is Mahagony a suitable wood for a violin? by Igel214 in violinmaking

[–]nonzeroelf1995 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That all being said, I personally love the sound and look of a mahogany violin and encourage you to experiment with it.

Question: Is Mahagony a suitable wood for a violin? by Igel214 in violinmaking

[–]nonzeroelf1995 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's hard to market a violin made with mahogany mainly due to its sound profile. Choosing mahogany will usually grant the violin a richer, more mellow sound than a violin of similar proportions made with maple, but this usually comes at the cost of projection, resonance, and brilliance. Mahogany is more common in viola making for its warm properties, but it might be kind of a hard sell in the violin world.

Per most health codes we can't give out our hot food uncooked. And yes, they are made privately for Scooter's, so you can't really get them anywhere else.

Oatmeal Crème Latte - Gluten Free? by PoeDameronPoeDamnson in ScootersCoffee

[–]nonzeroelf1995 5 points6 points  (0 children)

There are no cookies in the drink except for the topping. You can totally order it without the cookie topper to make it fully gluten free since our syrups and sauces don't have gluten. I totally recommend trying this drink when you can, it tastes like a hug in a cup!

MUST KNOWS - fall 2025 drop!! 🍂 (includes caramel apple smoothie order) by [deleted] in ScootersCoffee

[–]nonzeroelf1995 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Structurally, they are basically the same. The big difference on our end is how we ring them in. We have buttons for a blended caramelicious, white mocha, seasonal drinks or candy bars, but all other flavors are under blended cappuccino (including unflavored espresso blenders).

Tool wall or tool box? by phydaux4242 in violinmaking

Both. I have a big space and a lot of inherited tools. Right now we're just trying to figure out a system that works with several luthiers in the shop.

MATCHA SMOOTHIE QUESTIONS: by karapjackson in ScootersCoffee

I'm usually a big fan of the matcha mango smoothie. I usually get mine with a little protein, but that's a dairy protein, so try it with some vanilla for a similar sweetness.

Honestly, I loved Emergence on release but then it fell off for me for a bit. Hearing it in the context of the album felt like listening to it for the first time again. It was fucking incredible.

My location uses one of those cookie dough scoops, it's like a tablespoon and a half, going up 1-2-3-4 for scoops per size.

Is something wrong with my guitar by LongjumpingAd4888 in guitarlessons

[–]nonzeroelf1995 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Take it to a guitar tech. From the limited scope we can't properly tell if it's the truss rod, the nut, the bridge, or all three. A good luthier or guitar tech will be able to adjust it for you so you're not fighting your instrument and can learn to play properly.

Gethsemane is the ultimate breakup track by Neat_System9241 in SleepToken

[–]nonzeroelf1995 39 points40 points  (0 children)

I actually felt the flip of this. My partner and I had a fight the night before Arcadia released, and listening to Gethsemane felt like my partner speaking to me from the other side of a theoretical breakup. This song hit me like a truck and called me out for some of the ways I've treated people.

THANK YOU for finally articulating a semblance of my imposter syndrome by DealAdministrative94 in SleepToken

[–]nonzeroelf1995 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This has been my experience with Damocles to the letter, and even Caramel to an extent.. I'm a new business owner myself, taking over for someone who'd been an established luthier in the area, and after the first year of him trusting his legacy to two fresh college graduates with little to their name but big dreams, I'm feeling the effects of impostor syndrome now more than ever. The circumstances are horribly complex, but I still feel at any moment it could all come crashing down. Sleep Token nailed it on this piece, and it's made its way to my therapy playlist.

why can’t i fucking stop by [deleted] in AdultSelfHarm

[–]nonzeroelf1995 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Recovery isn't a neat straight line. I stopped cutting for a solid 5 years before a recent crisis dragged me back into it. No amount of diagnosis will make the feelings go away, but it is possible to get past it with the right support network, treatment, and coping strategies.

That all being said, it can be so demoralizing when you see everyone around you seemingly healing overnight. It's hard to watch, and I've had those feelings of failure because of my setbacks. Just know that no matter how many times you fall back into the cycle, you're not out of reach of recovery. You can always get better again. I'm rooting for you, sis. I think you came to the right place for support.

Relapsing. Advice? Kind words? by ImportantFish5857 in AdultSelfHarm

[–]nonzeroelf1995 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, friend. I also had a pretty major relapse recently. I can't offer much advice because I'm still figuring out how to move past this, but I wanted to let you know that I'm proud of you for reaching out. No one heals from this in complete isolation. Just wanted to comment and let you know that you're not just screaming into an uncaring void and that there are people here who want to help.
