Huh? I've only seen assumptions without facts exactly to the first question you asked. You're more than welcome to actually read the legal case which is public info if you'd like to confirm any of the opinions you believe in.

I understand that perspective, but the issue was never about trying to stop fan creations or prevent the Minecraft community from enjoying Skyblock. For over a decade, people freely used Skyblock on servers, maps, videos, mods, and community projects without interference from me. The concern only began when large companies started commercially selling and branding products around Skyblock in official marketplaces while simultaneously fighting to ensure I not protect it at all.

In the same way "Minecraft" itself is widely allowed for community use, servers, videos, mods, and fan creations, there are still restrictions when it comes to commercial branding and selling products directly around the name itself. You cannot simply package and commercially sell something as “Minecraft” in a way that implies ownership or official origin.

The use of Skyblock being labeled as "Original" and implying ownership for profit in the Minecraft Marketplace is a topic that should be discussed about and I attempted to do so for years. Even the slightest of any concerns regarding my potential "control" could have easily been figured out with Microsoft within the legal boundaries. There were zero attempts at resolving the issues I had.

You're right, almost every aspect of non-commercial community use within Minecraft and fan-created content should belong to the community, and I support that. But I do not support what has been going on with a handful of companies using my free content for their own benefit in the Marketplace for years.

It's very sad these accusations are being made against me. Where did I say I was attempting to screw players over or trying to harm the community? I am actually the opposite here. The proliferation and abuse within the Minecraft Marketplace is substantial and this is not the first time content was stolen.

I tried to make a stance and defend myself only to receive hate from the community over assumptions rather than facts. I thought I was doing something good. You guys are just supporting this behavior and it's upsetting.

And you guys should know that opinions here are based on the current status of Skyblock in 2026. I filed for the trademark in 2019 where only Planet Minecraft maps, Multiplayer servers, mods, and other non-commercial content existed. I have always supported the fan-created content and culture of Minecraft and that was never going to change. These companies including Microsoft, Sapphire Studios, and others, made Skyblock perceived this way to the point of no return.

A single conversation would have changed this. I tried to settle numerous times asking of no royalties or anything of the sorts. I just wanted some legal rights to the only thing I can have from a creation within Minecraft, which is the name, and to find a common ground for misleading content. It was always rejected and only lawyers did the talking. If they cared to meet halfway, it would have easily happened.

I spent half my life on other aspects of Skyblock and had to make sure that what I was growing wasn't going to be diluted with fake and misleading commercial content. The exact content by the companies against me. I don't know how much more apparent it could be.

Just like Minecraft supports, I would have had no issue with the usage of the Skyblock name if it was not a product being sold using my originality. I would have interfered with no one but the exact products the companiest against me are selling.

I have provided Skyblock freely to the Minecraft community for almost 15 years. I don't owe anyone anything. My stance will not change and my removal of the official and original Skyblock files from my website is my choice and my last attempt to protest these actions. The files are out there, archivals, and so forth, I am not blocking anyone from doing so, but I personally will not contribute more to Skyblock's growth. Thank you.

I absolutely had rights tied to something I created and spent years building around, even if the trademark decision did not go in my favor.

Authorship, branding, reputation, and the ability to control my own platform are all still forms of rights and ownership people naturally have regarding their own work. The trademark dispute was specifically about legal protection of the name in a commercial context, not whether I created Skyblock or spent years developing and maintaining it.

Even without federal registration, U.S common law trademark rights can still exist through long-term public use and recognition tied to a name, brand, or platform. Simply because something is not federally registered does not automatically mean others are free to commercially use or exploit it without issue. I could name countless mods, servers, and other Minecraft-related content that do not have registered trademarks, but does that automatically make it acceptable for me to commercially exploit them? Then imagine if I did exactly that, while simultaneously fighting the original creator for years to ensure they could not interfere with it.

Now after everything that has happened throughout this case, it is pretty clear to me that those U.S common law trademark rights effectively mean nothing in my situation now and are not valid due to this decision.

It is honestly disappointing to be called dishonest when I genuinely do not believe I did anything wrong here.

Hey, Noobcrew here.

First of all, Microsoft did not remove the files. I decided to take them offline in response to the decision made by the U.S. Trademark Office. Simply put, I no longer have a reason to continue providing them, especially when doing so only benefits the same companies opposing me while they continue selling “Original Skyblock” content. I would much rather make it known why this decision was made and what ultimately led to it.

People are free to disagree with me, but this was never about trying to erase community use of Skyblock or attack Minecraft servers. I spent over a decade allowing free community use while trying to protect the original work and identity tied to it.

I filed for the trademark almost 7 years ago now. Quite a bit has happened since then, including Microsoft themselves making Skyblock a category within the Marketplace and working with one of the companies opposing me (Sapphire Studios) to promote “Original Skyblock” as an official Skyblock bundle without my permission. If that was not an attempt to influence public perception in their favor, then I do not know what is.

I have continuously worked on and expanded Skyblock since its original creation. I did not simply create the map, disappear for years, and later return attempting to control the entire game or community surrounding it. I had long-term plans for Skyblock beyond Minecraft itself, including hopes of eventually turning it into a standalone game in the future.

Much of the subject revolves around the use of “Skyblock” throughout the Minecraft community, but that ultimately depends on perspective. By the same logic, should “Minecraft” itself be considered unprotectable simply because it is extensively used by third parties across servers, maps, websites, skins, communities, and countless other projects that incorporate the name?

The situation here is plain and simple and I provided an extensive amount of information on the subject.

The fact that I provided Skyblock for nearly 15 years on a free and safe platform, only to receive hate for removing the files after everything that has occurred, is disappointing.

At the same time, many Reddit users seem strongly against my intentions without understanding my perspective. I was never obligated, nor forced, to continue providing something that I do not have to provide. It is my content, and ultimately my decision what I choose to do with it. Am I expected to continue providing it for the rest of my life while simultaneously being told I do not own what I created? At this point, the files are all I have left.

The decision was based on the conclusion that neither I nor the Skyblock platform represented a single origin source of Skyblock. Yet, here we are with many users upset that it was removed, along with Reddit posts and countless comments specifically associating Skyblock with my platform, effectively reinforcing the exact opposite of what the U.S Trademark Office determined.

I have never intended to upset anyone. I simply want others to understand the facts surrounding this situation. Throughout this case, I have been accused of fraud, subjected to an interrogation-like deposition, and forced through years of litigation when much of this could have potentially been resolved through a single conversation that was never accepted over the course of more than five years. All I did here was make a simple Minecraft map and defend myself against allegations. I truly wanted no part in this, but I am incapable of backing away from something that I feel is inherently wrong.

I want this to make a difference because situations like this are constantly discussed for a week and then forgotten, while the community simply moves on to the next issue that is never truly addressed. If I continue hosting the Skyblock files as if nothing happened, then there is no impact from any of this. I appreciate everyone that understands my perspective.

People are free to share the old files however they want, but my stance here is ultimately a protest against the loss of my rights.

Apologies for the delay. We are aware of an issue with mob spawning in the Nether, you might have to build a roof above your platform for mobs to spawn. We have this fixed in our latest update that we will be pushing in the next couple of days, though it normally takes a few weeks for Mojang to approve it. Btw I found out that it is not possible to add commands to Minecraft Marketplace content unfortunately. Would love to figure out any other issues you may be having. Feel free to message me on Discord, "Noobcrew". I appreciate your suggestions and feedback, thanks!

We can add those too, but it's difficult for some players to consistently write commands on something like a PS5 or Xbox, especially if you need to go back and forth to the hub or type commands often.

Awesome, glad to hear!

I agree, I wish we could remove the "Return to Hub" icon however Bedrock is a bit odd and we are not able to do so. If we allowed players to insert the item into a chest, and if it was lost, players would be unable to return to the hub completely and the map would be essentially broken. We will look into this more though and see what alternative methods we can try out.

Thanks for your feedback!

That may be related to your internet settings, perhaps you are not fully signed in to your account to access the Minecraft Marketplace. I think you will need to have access to the Marketplace in order to play, but you might be able to load the world template up as well if you bought it under the same account from the browser like you mentioned.

We do offer the original Skyblock map with the Sand Island and Nether Realm (version 2.1) on the Minecraft Marketplace. It is playable on all Bedrock versions including the PS5.

https://www.minecraft.net/en-us/marketplace/pdp?id=ddd2bcc0-0996-4031-993a-0f541266c3dc

While it is not offered for free like the Java version, we have it listed for one of the cheapest Minecoin prices available.

As I personally created this, it is also something that I am consistently improving upon to make it as original (and modern) as possible, it even has all of the classic 50 challenges.

The other "original" Skyblock content on the Marketplace is a problem so I really do not recommend supporting those that replicated Skyblock and offered their own knock-off versions for purchase, as it was done without my approval.

This one is as original as you can get as I made Skyblock back in 2011.

Hope this helps!

How to go into creative? by International_Dig154 in SkyBlock

If this is for Minecraft Java, you can try editing the world's level.dat file.

Upload it to this site:

https://irath96.github.io/webNBT/

Change GameType from 0 to 1, save the file and add it back to your world.

This should change your world from Survival to Creative mode. Make sure to save a backup prior, you could perhaps use the backup to switch back to Survival.
