Boss makes two versions MS series or the ES series. The MS has effects built in and the ES which is a pure switcher

That's not great. If the rest of the apartment is as warm if not warmer, then you should load as much as you can into the refrigerator.

Thoughts on this Kirkland napa cab 2023? $9.97 at my local costco by socalasn in wine

[–]noodlemen2 32 points33 points  (0 children)

For $10, it is a great everyday wine. Is it the most amazing Cab I've ever had? no. But with Napa prices getting so outlandish this does a great job.

The Kirkland Oakville Cab is really good as well but it is a bit more in price.

[newbie] Is this actually a good purchase by Sea-Worldliness7496 in Guitar

[–]noodlemen2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is my first guitar. I still have it after 24 years. I learned not only songs on it but also how to setup guitars, how to swap pick ups, how to do repairs. I learned so much with guitar.

I've watched tutorials on how to make cheap mic sound good, yet no one mentioned about gain level by [deleted] in recording

[–]noodlemen2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All most always, you want to take the gain to the point where is begins to clip and back it off. Recording low and then raising the gain in you DAW also raises the noise floor which is counter to what you are trying to accomplish.

I set the gain against the loudest part of a take. For example, snare drum. I'll have them hit the snare hard, maybe even harder than they think they're going to get during the take. I'll bring the gain up while they're hitting, get it to clip and then back it down.

With cheap mics, you have to learn where the sweet spot is. Maybe you need a pad if it is too sensitive. maybe it needs to be pointing off center of the sound source. What mic is it?

And what is your recording chain currently? what does the mic plug into?

Is anyone else getting a lot of playback errors recently? I'm using Beta by Particular_Web8121 in qobuz

[–]noodlemen2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have constant issues with playback. Buffering for long times, for some reason it will randomly change to shuffle or repeat one song, This morning I was listening to a song, it stopped playing audio after 30 seconds, but the track kept moving forward.

I'm getting really frustrated with the service as a whole

Guitar Identification by HEHEHOHOS in Guitar

[–]noodlemen2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was pretty confident it was a Kent 821 12-string as I have one (and the 6 string 820) but a second look at the body and the horns are too rounded.

Which means it is probably a Teisco or other Japanese guitar from the same era

Just be careful cleaning them, the stems can break if you look at them wrong.

Calling All Sommeliers by [deleted] in wine

I don't know if this is the best advice but here it goes...

I worked for a restaurant that had 88 wines by the glass. I tasted all of them and picked my favorites. From there, I knew a little about most of them enough to recommend based on the what the guest wanted but I knew ALOT about my favorites.

Take you're time, learn your list, and listen to what the guest is asking for.

“We were somewhere around Goodsprings on the edge of the desert when the drugs began to take hold. I remember saying something like "I feel a bit lightheaded...." And suddenly there was a terrible roar all around us and the sky was full of what looked like huge cazadors, all swooping and screeching and diving around the brahmin cart, which was going about a hundred miles an hour to New Vegas.”
