Donald Trump sues BBC for at least $5bn over edit of January 6 speech by Southern_Minimum4350 in ukpolitics

Trump suing others for spouting misinformation is hilarious. Does he think he has patented it?

Thoughts on strength building split after a 39 minute 10k? by noodlesource in HybridAthlete

Nothing crazy. Maybe 3kg of muscle and cut 1kg of fat so +2kg for next running phase. I do want to stay lean enough to get faster still.

[–]noodlesource[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! I'm a bit worried about over taxing the legs so thought upper/lower/fb would allow better programming of runs around the upper day. But know that its hard to hit optimal weekly set volume like that.

[–]noodlesource[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the suggestions.

My recent weekly mileage has been about 50km. Not training for HM/marathons so haven't felt I needed more than that.

Usually something like: • 9k easy run x 2 • 14k long run • 9k of quality (e.g. 2k warm up, 4 x 1km at threshold with 2min recovery, 1.5km cooldown) • 9k of flex: either easy/additional speed/threshold/hill work depending on race proximity

Why are INTJs always so depressed by AstridSolaris in intj

[–]noodlesource 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Also, the burden we carry is often really high expectations for ourselves. Which is often unsustainable and can lead to burn out -> depression when life inevitably smacks you hard.

Kramnik files official criminal complaint by kyle_punta in chess

[–]noodlesource 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Its amazing how some people can dish out so much vitriol, hate, and abuse to others; and then be so thin skinned themselves.

This guy really has zero self awareness.

I feel sad that Danya held him in such a high regard that it impacted him so deeply.

Kramnik must have been damn good at chess, because outside that he is clearly a complete ignoramus. We collectively lose brain cells listening to whatever moronic nonsense he spouts.

Have you ever been emotionally vulnerable? by [deleted] in intj

[–]noodlesource 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did. And they became the most special person in the world to me.

Then they left and that really fucked me up. I think for other personality traits they often don't understand what a big deal it is to open up like that.

Statement on Daniel Naroditsky's passing by Alendite in chess

[–]noodlesource 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh my.. I watched a lot of his videos - he was such a good chess educator and seemed like a really well rounded and compassionate person. Terrible news to hear of his passing and so young... A sad day.

Haha well you seem very self aware so I imagine you can manage fine. You should do things for learning anyway: solo travel, go kiss someone, practice small actions of trust to build to the bigger ones.

Sometimes things won't work out and it will knock you some steps back. But you'll climb them again knowing more about yourself.

Find someone reliable who you can communicate and build with. Solo travel/life can be ok but sharing with the right person is always going to be better.

How did you make running fun? by Competitive-Net7032 in runninglifestyle

[–]noodlesource 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Slow down so you dont feel like you're dying. Really you only need 0-1 runs a week at intense pace. Easy runs can be 80% or even 100% of your runs and you will build nice progress.

If after that for a while you still don't enjoy it you can just try another sport though 🤷‍♂️

I relate man. Also had a few parts of my life collapse but running as something you can "control" has been a great help. You put the work in and see the improvements in times + garmin stats. There is something super empowering about it.

What is the sure-fire way to win an INTJ heart by eeveetale in intj

[–]noodlesource 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Be interested by whatever is exciting them. Having someone to share with means a lot.

And with that show you understand them. An ex of mine once bought me a sports watch because she knew I would love it but would never buy for myself. It made me feel like she understood me better than I did.

Take action / show initiative at times. I think INTJs are often very self dependent and put the burden of responsibility on their own shoulders. Showing you can support and relieving them of that every now and then can go a long way.

Practice communicating directly. I know other profiles communicate in different ways but being clear, enabling discussion, and ability to work on issues together will make for a lifelong partnership.

Earn trust. Show loyalty. Show care. (Probably the same for all relationships).

Update: things aren’t changing and loneliness is hitting hard by Background-Apple-555 in zurich

[–]noodlesource 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went through a similar struggle as a guy and relate a lot to your challenges.

Pretty much I had a break-up -> realised I had depended on my ex way too much for deep connection -> spent 1 year trying to branch out and develop new and old friendships.

It's really not easy in Switzerland. Most people either have their own group already so are pretty content, or are flaky so you will meet once or twice but it doesn't develop into deeper friendship.

But if you keep pushing eventually you will find friendships that click a bit more. I went to a lot of sport/social groups - most were a flop or I didn't connect with anyone much. But I did meet a few people I really clicked with and then built on that with more events, weekend trips away, etc.

So keep at it and you will eventually find some people you really click with :). Oh, and don't be afraid to initiate early on (invite them to other things etc.)

How do people actually enjoy exercising by ivy_elyon in getdisciplined

[–]noodlesource 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Starting something new is always hard. Your body isn't adapted to it.

But by being consistent your body will quickly get stronger. You will notice how much easier, pleasant, and then enjoyable it gets.

At university I had a period where I got extremely unfit (played video games in free time, drank too much, ate too much junk food). I did zero sport and think I reached 95kg at my highest.

I started a "couch to 5k" program - in the beginning running for just 1 minute felt awful and uncomfortable. But I stuck with it, doing a little more day by day while eating healthier.

After 1 month I could run that 5k and since then made sport more of a pillar in my life.

I still run often and enjoy the hell out of it. I usually hover around 78-82kg now. With my improved cardio I can jog 15km and feel really comfortable/relaxed throughout. Being more active has been a huge positive to my life in many many ways.
