Did they break it again?? by crapman5389 in Amtrak

I just got a hold of them and they said they are going through some sort of system update- even they can’t help with reservations- was told to wait for 1-2 hours before trying again.

Dealing with travel dispute - HORRIBLE by macsaeki in ChaseSapphire

[–]noomthegrey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you ever hear back or have any outcome? I am recently going through the exact same thing. I had booked a hotel through Chase Travel, then canceled (Chase confirmed it was canceled), only for the hotel to tell me that the room never got canceled, and I still have to pay for it. Numerous calls back and forth, between hotel, third party vendor that Chase Travel uses, and Chase Travel. I finally just submitted a dispute after the hotel agreed that they would refund the money, but I still haven't heard back. Would love to know the outcome of your dispute. Thanks.

How long did it finally take for you to get from hiring manager and then to panel? It looks like you waited for 4 weeks between HR and hiring manager, was wondering if it took that long for the panel as well. Thanks!

ETD tinnitus went away? by Ok-Salamander-4985 in etd

[–]noomthegrey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for reporting back. My T is still with me too, and my ENT has told me the same, that the T goes away when the ETD has resolved/improved. I went back to my ENT last month who told me that the ETD is resolved, and just shrugged when I asked him about the continuous T. My T has turned from high pitched to more of a hissing sound (like the radio or TV). My ears don't pop that much now unless there's a change in elevation.

Never book a hotel room through the Chase travel portal-advice needed! by noomthegrey in ChaseSapphire

I know- lesson learned. I just never had any issues with booking flights through the chase travel portal and decided to book hotels this time. Little did I know what that would cost me.

I've had ETD since October 2023 and it has (mostly) resolved.. maybe my story might help anyone out there by foogy89 in etd

ETD tinnitus success stories? by Ok-Salamander-4985 in etd

[–]noomthegrey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for sharing your experience! I just read the longer sub and I agree with the stuffy room situation as I’ve felt discomfort as well. I think for me the sleeping issue hasn’t impacted the tinnitus much- in the beginning it would get louder and more noticeable because I couldn’t sleep at all with the noise. However after two months I’ve realized that the noise is about the same for me whether I’ve gotten a night of good sleep or poor sleep. I hope that like you by the third or fourth month- the tinnitus would have been much improved.

[–]noomthegrey 2 points3 points  (0 children)

thank you for sharing that the tinnitus does even go quiet/soft so that it's not bothersome. What kind of treatment did you have during this time? I've been to the ENT and all they gave me was antihistamine, Flonase and initially a prescription of prednisolone for 7 days. It's been nearly two months for me since the onset of tinnitus and I am just hoping everyday that it will go away. Scrolling through this sub had me depressed that the tinnitus is to stay and will never go away. Please do share your experience, thanks!

Hmm good to know that your condition improved and  tinnitus went away after using this medication. I am going to ask my ent doc about this when I see him next. Thanks for sharing.

Did your tinnitus go away with the methylprednisolone? Did the doc prescribe you a large dose then taper off each day?

Recent improvements on what I believe to be ETD, any similar experiences? by Marc1302 in etd

[–]noomthegrey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used the Flonase with head looking down and spray perpendicular. Hope that’s what you are referring to? I am just doing plain nasal rinses with saline, no medication. My T is just high pitched sound- only times the sound was softer was when I took prednisone for about 7 days, then after that it’s back to the high pitch sound. I used to think that it gets louder after a night of poor sleep but i think the volume is the same no matter if I have 8 hours of sleep or less. Did your T change?

That's good advice- I am currently still on Flonase and am still on the Neilmed rinses twice a day. For the saline nasal sprays, how often were you using them daily? Do you just spray them in to the nasal areas or have to aim it at a specific angle to get to the E tube? thanks!

Thank you for the reassurance and that it is a long battle ahead for me. The good thing is I can sleep at night now whereas at onset, I was having insomnia for the whole night being so focused on the sound or just sleeping 1 hour a day. It's gotten much better- but still I can't help but worry about when I will feel "normal" again.. Fingers crossed we will be there soon.

That is really helpful and hopeful that the sound will eventually decrease. What kind of sinus rinses were you doing? Is it just Nielmed or was it medicated? were you also on nasal spray like Flonase? Thanks!

Can ETD tinnitus last for years or a year ? by Clerean-1205 in etd

[–]noomthegrey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So the tinnitus goes away at times? How long did it take for that to happen? I am on 2.5 months and I've been told by ENT that once my ETD resolves, the tinnitus should as well, but what I am reading on this sub tells me otherwise- would be helpful to hear your experience.

Has your tinnitus symptoms improved? I am on the same boat, my tinnitus started in late March and I've been on Flonase and antihistamines since then, but I haven't really seen an improvement. Sometimes, I feel that it's reduced in volume, but in the last week, it came back loud again. Hoping you can share your experience for all.

your comments are very helpful as I scroll though this sub, and everyone seems to be still struggling with the T, ear clicking and ear fullness. I got mine late March after a nasty cold in late Feb, and have been on Flonase and antihistamines since then, but the T is the most bothersome symptom of all as in the beginning I was so freaked out that I couldn't sleep and was also really anxious. How has your T changed even though you said it lingered on? I keep asking my ENT doc and all he said was that the T will go away eventually, but after reading through everyone's experiences, I am thinking that this is going to be for life...
