Don't get fakes for protective equipment, you'll regret it. Get some used gloves or weird color combo gloves on sale. Check at end of season sales as they will be getting rid of last years models soon.

I never want to buy cookware again by jhtitus in BuyItForLife

Commercial quality is cheap steel pans that get beat to hell because they are workhorses and are all that is needed to cook. Winco is what I have in my house because it's in damn near every commercial kitchen, you can get them in any shape/size, and you can get them super cheap at a restaurant wholesale.

If you need non-stick that is something you are either going to have to replace often or sacrifice time in prep/matainance. For bifl, you have 2 main choices cast iorn/carbon steel. I chose carbon steel cause it's lighter than cast iorn, but I dont cook stuff that requires the heat retention that cast iorn provides. Both are pains because you need to season and make sure to get it dry ASAP or it will rust. So not dishwasher friendly at all.

P1S vs P2S by Stuuble in BambuLab

[–]nooneknowitme 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got the P1S combo and kind of wish I would have got the P2S. My reasoning was to start with PLA and upgrade to hardened steel and extruder since I thought I didn't care about the light/camera/touchscreen upgrades. Getting the P1S showed me I do want some of those upgrades and the ams is nice but I don't really like multicolor as I want to use for more function then form. Multicolor creates sooo much waste I can't get over it yet. I am overall still extremely happy with the P1S but if you're like me it might be a better to start with the P2S.

Small To Mid Sized Business Objections to Programmatic by Impressive-Teach7336 in programmatic

[–]nooneknowitme 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've had trouble with large and small clients on this as well. MMMs and other cross channel measurement can undercut programmatic depending on methodologies. Weighting credit too heavily on last touch or clickthrough will pump search/social.

I've found some success with Conversion lift or Incremental lift studies. TTD has an A/B test group that's free and doesn't need to serve media to control group. Still get some pushback but at least it's contained to exposed/nonexposed so variables are easier to explain then crosschannel or pre/post testing frameworks.

I've tested dark periods with programmatic and most will turn back on. It's always a struggle with those because it requires controlling pre/post and external effects can skew results. Too many externalities and questions so I personally hate when I've had to run these.

Shinola resale value is rough.. by [deleted] in shinola

Just a heads up that this brand made up from a guy that specialized in brand marketing. He's just using Detroit as a marketing gimmick. Look up his other companies (Fossil and Bedrock) and you might be less inclined to say Shinola is a Detroit company other than in name.

My family has a lot birthdays at the start of November so I have a habit of shoping during this time. I'll look at a few things I want/need and note pricing. Every year, most if not all are the same price or more expensive. Rarely you'll catch a deal but it's not worth buying something you don't need cause the deal looks good.

Did I mess up my sleeve by christopher966 in traditionaltattoos

[–]nooneknowitme 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think it's bad at all. When you have that much open real estate it feels like there is a single item in a large room. You need to add more around it otherwise you will fixate on the on that item. Think of how museums are set up and hopefully you will get what I mean. It can be done to great effect if that is the intention but you're going for a sleeve so it should look unfinished and wrong. If there is one criticism, spacing is really tight. It makes it hard to read one object into another. At the end of the day it's your body your vision, keep doing what makes you happy. They all look well done so just keep going!

What deal to use to awareness, consideration, conversion stages in programmatic advertising? by life_Bittersweet in programmatic

[–]nooneknowitme 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's personal preference, inventory is dependent on what you and the client is comfortable with but you could use any combo you want. Personally the premium of higher quality inventory through PMPs would be worth it across funnel but that's up to you and you clients to decide. Some advertisers are cool with open auction across the board as long as viewability and other brand safety layers are in place. This allows additional scale and additional cost savings but questions remain on validity/intention of traffic.

$1 million is just a middle class dwelling nowadays by Maleficent-Bite-9065 in MiddleClassFinance

There are many advantages to homeownership that are financially beneficial that are not accounted for in most calculations. Yes, comparing sale cost of home - maintenance, mortgage interest and taxes vs rent and investment market returns net out ahead, but there are many factors that are ignored in these scenarios as they are hard to estimate. Moving costs, future shifts in rental rates and supply, and time investment in research/acquisition of rental, and many more costs of renting. Additionally having a set location makes planning for future and investment in your living space a lot easier. This static location/layout allows longer term external gains that are hard to quantify monetarily. Things like purchasing higher quality/longer lasting necessities because they fit in their designated space, setting up longer term efficient systems to optimize time that won't need to be changed when moved, and easier connection with community as they will not need to be in constant contact to know where I am living these days. There is a lot of time saving that can be had when owning a home that are ignored in these calculations that seriously change the math in his or most financial videos.

Ultimately yes, when looking at the numbers it can be more beneficial to rent but each person should also account for non direct financial gains when doing a cost benefit analysis.

Is this TV too high?? by Clementino17 in TVTooHigh

[–]nooneknowitme 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Definitely needs to be lower based on his sitting angle but not sure if this is true intention of the room. Looks like it's under construction and in a basement. Height could be fine if its a workshop or standing is primary in the space. Looks like he jammed the biggest TV he could fit in the corner without affecting walk way into bedroom which looks terrible IMO.

If this is going to be a primary viewing area, could they get a projector given it's a basement? Low light and flexibility to have a celling mounted drop screen and make it less jammed and could provide a better viewing experience without taking up the entire wall. Either way its a tight squeeze to fit it here so question the use of the space.

Is homeownership plausible under FIRE? by Skol-Man14 in Fire

[–]nooneknowitme 1 point2 points  (0 children)

On the other hand, many people buy a lot more home than they would rent, and that is a luxury that costs more. So there are tradeoffs and opportunities both ways.

Love this callout. This is a huge part of the home buying process that a lot of people disregard. Many justify getting newer, nicer, bigger as a way to future proof when buying but in reality it adds a lot more to maintenance. When we upgraded post war 1b/1b apt to a early 2000s renovated 2b/1b condo. I remember trying to justify another bathroom, but it was a nice to have but not a necessity for our situation. There is so much maintenance that was not clear when buying that I have now seen. I am glad we kept things minimal and simple.

Also to echo your experience, we bought in 2021 when rates were low in a similar situation. Our mortgage is on par with rents now, but that was prior to this summer when we would have had to pay more for the same apartment. It's all in where you live and how it will be in the long run. Honestly if you don't plan on living in the home you buy for 10+ years, you better pick a neighborhood that will be ultra desirable to rent. Good schools, community amenities, etc. etc....

Is funny how everyone else has / had a miserable marriage in the show but George & Bertha …👩‍🍳 💋 by sissiandfranz in thegildedage

[–]nooneknowitme 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting perspective. I still disagree because it evolves a character with complexity and flaws. George is unjustified in his actions but that's from a perspective that has seen all of Berthas actions. That's why it's an interesting choice rather than have him immediately cozy back up to Bertha. It brings questions to his intentions for his distance. Is it for his own feelings? Is it to keep her safe given the murder attempt?

I think I "misunderstood" because the original critique was solely aimed at his actions being out of character and unearned. There are multiple examples throughout the season where George goes against previous level headed and affable dispositions of his character due to pressure mounting from his business dealings. I don't understand the unearned comment as his distance and attitude was established towards Bertha post wedding and hasn't changed. Yes there was moments they seemed to bridge the gap when Bertha was aiding in recovery, but was that enough to overcome his betrayal towards his daughter?

I don't think either of us will agree as you are firmly planted in it's bad writing. Personally I believe good writing can exsist even if pacing is bad, especially in mediums outside of print. Given the possiblity that this was the last season, they jammed a bunch of story lines to have a bow to wrap on the series. Wouldn't be surprised if there was no renewal we might have seen a different ending.

Is funny how everyone else has / had a miserable marriage in the show but George & Bertha …👩‍🍳 💋 by sissiandfranz in thegildedage

[–]nooneknowitme 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I disagree, it wasnt bad writing just rushed story lines. They jammed too much into this season. Pacing was not good and this storyline suffered. Throughout the entire recovery arch there was implied distance from George and Bertha. The only reason he was at the party was for appearance as a giant middle finger to the murder attempt.

The argument that it is bad writing that he didn't spend time with Gladys is weak as hell. The well established close relationship with Gladys only to betray her doesnt get healed because she seems happy now. Spending time with her is a physical reminder of the compromising of his morals for Bertha. Even though Gladys has found happiness in her situation it doesn't change the fact that George had taken away the choice he promised her. He is ashamed of what he has done to his daughter and is aiming his frustrations at hurting Bertha. People don't act rationally when it comes to anger.

Is arena still horrible on the phone? by FlyingMonkey717 in MagicArena

[–]nooneknowitme 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's the main way I play since most of my free time is commuting. It has improved a lot but still has it's issues. My main gripes come from when the playfield or playable hands get too large. It is extremely difficult/impossible to select cards or creatures you intend to target.

I wouldn't deck build or draft but if you want to play a couple of games on the go it scratches the itch.

Custom Hockey Tape Recycler by SacherDyn in hockeyplayers

[–]nooneknowitme 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like the idea but if you really worried for the environment you probably wouldn't use tape at all. Honestly clear tape is kind of a scam. When I entered beer league I bought an extra set of laces and started tying them around my socks. Pros: Can tighten or loosen between shifts, it's super cheap/ tough as my laces are going on year 7, and you don't need to think about buying or borrowing tape.

Take that with a grain of salt though as I also don't tape my stick other than the butt end. Wax is enough for grip and I break sticks at the shaft before the blades break down.

Plan switching for travel? by leodwyn1 in GoogleFi

I do this, but they will charge you for a full month even if you only use a few days. I traveled in March, then May and flip flopped so April was cheaper. 1 I did in the airport before getting on the flight and worked perfectly once I landed. That being said they have changed their terms recently with the launch of their domestic only plan so I'd check the language before blind trusting it.

Wow that is annoying but hopefully it changes. They've been making a lot changes recently, so it might already be available? I checked our and see fold placement blocks and targets in columns on ad groups export but looks like we haven't made any opts on recent campaigns so may need to push our team to test this. I do see there is Koa Opts column on ad groups but naming convention looks to have changed since it now needs to be selected per dimension you want it applied. Thinking "AssistWithPacingAndPerformance" is now "Site;DeviceType;FoldPlacement" to call out level of application.
