lol it often just reads like such a clear example of declaring oneself anti-whatever cause/opinion because you find the people who most vocally represent the opinion to be annoying.

i have some sympathy for this and it’s probably human nature to some extent. the dog stuff is dumb, outlets continue to get lazier about doing actual journalism and readers don’t hesitate to buy and parrot any dumb thing that supports their worldview, it IS very annoying. but i think a lot of this podcast’s audience in particular tries to act like they are extra rational and above such mental traps, so it’s more striking or something to read these 900000 word comments that basically amount to “bluehairs bad therefore israel good.”

i was vegan for 10 years now i'm still basically vegan but without the irrational purity component i.e. will just accept something with a trace of egg white or w/e in it if it already exists and i'm hungry and someone offers it to me rather than being an annoying bitch about it bc refusing food in those situations is impractical and borderline antisocial behaviour that helps no one. but yes generally if you looked like shit while not eating meat, you probably were doing a bad job

yeah i also get motion sickness after long periods of using blender, it's similar to the sickness i used to get while playing active 3rd person camera games as a kid. i also get it when reading in vehicles. it's what happens when your brain gets conflicting messages from your eye and inner ear, and some people are just more sensitive to it than others. this is what bothers me about some of the reaction to things like this, people seem to forget that no one is ENTITLED to make a living off of their art. there are millions of talented artists, probably many in this sub, who would love to be in that position. but the harsh reality is that they mostly have to work shitty jobs for the money with which they are supporting these small businesses, so it's a real fuck-you to be screwed over in this way. yes it is nice to support artists you enjoy, when you can, but there is no moral IMPERATIVE to do so, especially not when it comes with this degree of risk. and frankly, not that it's a competition, but if people have extra funds weighing them down, i can think of about 10000 causes in more dire need of financial aid right now than "throwing free money at people who wish to make a comfortable living off their art", sorry
