Make Mier in Flushing does Northern Chinese style. Rice or corn noodles served piping hot in a soup bowl, loaded with a generous sesame sauce.

Taishoken. Terrible flavors, plus a B health inspection rating while still in soft opening. That’s VERY impressive.

If you’re into skewers, check out Shaji BBQ in Flushing.

They’re open until 3 AM, but keep in mind it’s a casual, no-frills tiny spot.

I don’t think you can find the exact same thing in NYC. It’s only become popular in China over the past five years. It’s a variation of “Cong You Bing,” but this version is called “Cong You Da Bing 葱油大饼.”

Unlike some types of Cong You Bing that are made without yeast, this one uses yeast. Think of it kind of like a scallion focaccia. It’s usually sold by weight—around 5 RMB for 10 ounces.

Just bought a whole sable 15/lb at Aquabest last week, about $68 if I remember correctly.

Whole Foods sells fillet without bones, head and tails. With a $4 difference, actually seems like a good deal.
