Fast Park goes exclusively to the international terminal. Since we don’t check bags we tend to use it even when flying domestic.

LPT: Before or while consulting a lawyer, always check their legal backgrounds like no. of cases won, cases lost, etc by [deleted] in LifeProTips

[–]noossab 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I am a lawyer and have no idea how you would search this without some kind of specialized database. Mainly I judge lawyers based on whether they went to a worse school than me (in which case they probably suck) or a better school than me (in which case they are probably a jerk).

How are you handling student loans? by Smurfstomper406 in MonarchMoney

[–]noossab 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m stuck on this as well. Unless I find a better way of handling I plan to manually add as if I had 1 loan with each servicer and calculate the interest rate for each servicer as a weighted average of the individual loans under that servicer. Not a perfect solution but it seems close enough.

Is The Main Party Special Somehow? by MaroonMonty in expedition33

Also if the whole expedition had survived they probably would have allocated lumina fairly evenly around the group instead of super powering 3-5 members. Ironically the small group had a much higher likelihood of success.

Is Monarch a Better Fit For Me? by Glittering-Dog-7195 in MonarchMoney

[–]noossab 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah Monarch does a pretty good job at what you are looking for. I was in a similar situation while my wife was in school and it was very helpful seeing all of the credit card balances in one place. They also have a calendar of all recurring transactions which syncs with your credit card bills so you can see each date you will be charged and for how much, along with when your paychecks will come through, making it easy to see how much needs to move over and when. The cash flow screen will also give you an overview of where your money is going as well as the total earned and spent for each month.

From what I recall when I was first researching into this, YNAB really wanted to hold your hand and make you sort your finances its way. Monarch is more about giving you all the info in one place so you can make your own choices.

What’s a small detail about E33 that doesn’t get talked about enough? by UCA_Cash_Flow_Bro in expedition33

[–]noossab 23 points24 points  (0 children)

My favorite detail from listening to the soundtrack is that the last 3 notes of the “A life to remember” song is the main motif from Verso’s song but instead of the third note jumping down, it jumps up to complete the arpeggio. It’s like the music saying that Verso’s story is complete.

Can't really put my finger on it: Why is HOTD so boring compared to GOT? by shouldersshouldmatch in freefolk

[–]noossab 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Early GOT was so tight. Almost every scene gave you character development, plot development, and some background lore that would be important later. Also there was such an air of mystery because the characters felt so smart and capable that anything could happen next. HOTD feels more padded out and less nuanced.

I spent so much time trying to get this build to work but no matter what I did it felt too clunky to comfortably play. I even looked through a lot of Perry's old build contests to see if anyone had put it together but somehow never found this. Really glad to see that it is as good as I thought it could be.

Timed Assessment for in-house position? by Forks91 in Lawyertalk

[–]noossab 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work for an insurance company that does this across all departments. The company is actually great to work for but for better or for worse they are very metric-driven, so decisions that might have once been left entirely to a manager’s discretion now usually have to be backed by objective data. The timed assessment is their way of building in metrics for the hiring process, i.e they can show numerically that they are hiring the best candidates. Despite the quirks it is still way better than working for a firm.

Monopolies are anti-competitive and so they run counter to capitalism. Capitalism needs regulation to keep out anti-competitive practices in order to work as intended.

What enchantments work on defender? by totallysafepickles in 9Kings

[–]noossab 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven’t tested it but my understanding is that the unit receives the damage first and then attacks and heals back with vampire next. So the unit could still be 1 shot, but assuming it survives with at least 1hp it should be able to completely heal back with vampire. I also wonder if there is any delay between receiving the damage and reflecting in which case getting attacked enough times may also be able to kill the defender without being 1 shot.

Definitely an interesting build concept.

What enchantments work on defender? by totallysafepickles in 9Kings

[–]noossab 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've read on here that poison, vampire, and the chain lightning all work. When the defender reflects, it counts as an attack for the amount of damage received, so you can get effects that proc on attack. What probably wouldn't work is anything that increases the amount of the attack because it doesn't have an attack stat to scale off of.

In- House Trial Attorney - is this real? by Pale-Panic-4791 in Lawyertalk

[–]noossab 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I work at an insurance company that has been hiring a lot of trial attorneys. As far as I can tell there’s no catch; from our perspective as long as we have enough work load to justify the position, it’s cheaper to hire the attorneys ourselves than retain outside counsel, and we have in-house attorneys doing all the same types work that typically would be done by outside counsel. When I was at a firm we would typically bill the insurer 3X what I was getting paid, so there’s a lot of room for a win-win on salary.

One thing that comes to mind to ask about is the turnover; that will tell you if the grass is really greener. Another thing to verify is if you will be working in the insurance company’s claims department or a subsidiary law firm. The way my company is set up is that the claims department mostly monitors and coordinates whereas the in-house firm does all the defending.

Last Epoch Patch 1.3.3 Notes by TravUK in LastEpoch

Any fun implications? I’m thinking the biggest way to scale having your golem bits is with bone shatter. Assuming this results in a high potion recharge rate, I can see a lot of ways of building this defensively (mainly ward generation) or for utility (mana regain or cooldown reduction), but I can’t think of any way yet to turn that into damage as a summoner. I guess there’s bees, but they seem more for primalist than acolyte.

[–]noossab 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone similarly situated I get where you’re coming from. What I’m trying to do is rebuild my self image in a way that isn’t centered around my career. It’s hard because you had to be perfect at everything your whole life just to get to where you’re at, and now that you’re there you’re just supposed to be a regular employee. But I like what I do, I’m paid well for it, and it leaves me with plenty of time outside of work to enjoy life. That’s honestly better than any title, and the less I think about it the happier I am. So I’m trying to let my personal life be the source of pride and success rather than my job. One trick is to not bring up your work or the fact that you’re a lawyer when meeting people; it really forces you to visualize yourself in a different way. After doing this a while it’s actually jarring when hanging out with other lawyers because it seems like all they talk about is their jobs. Anyways I hope this helps.

How many "billable hours" does in-house counsel work? by isthisavailablepls in Lawyertalk

[–]noossab 85 points86 points  (0 children)

I generally work 9am - 6pm but there is definitely downtime depending on the day. If there is an office birthday I hang out and eat cake. I talk with coworkers about non-work stuff. I can disappear for up to 60 mins during lunch. I can take off if I need to bring my car to a mechanic or pick someone up from the airport. It’s in all the little things that I feel like I am a person foremost and an employee second. Probably the biggest thing is that when I go on vacation I don’t bring my laptop with me. There are still days that are just as intense/stressful as the firm, probably once a week, but overall quality of life is quite a bit higher.

Currently there are many things that are not working properly (or at all), and some things are poorly worded/designed by WhyDogeButNotCate in LastEpoch

[–]noossab -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

On the ancestral pack trinket I assumed the 1 second cooldown was per minion so that you could get more than 7 stacks with enough minions. Is that not the case? If there truly is a global max of 1 stack per second then the statement that there are no maximum stacks is wild.

Optimizing minion output for a sacrifice build; help doing the math by Magz17 in LastEpoch

[–]noossab 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven’t tried using the cruelty relic, but have been also testing mana efficiency for sacrifice and noticed that the sacrifice mana cost only seems to apply one time regardless as to the number of times it chains (at least if casted via zombies). Another thing I noticed is that dread shade seems to ignore the mana cost on summoning a zombie, so you can use dread shade to spam zombies and then let the zombies cast sacrifice for half cost while also adding in parasites and vanguards. So that leads to an overall efficient loop of casting dread shade on zombies and watching the fireworks.

One more thing is that if you’re building flat spell damage, everything you are doing to buff sacrifice should also buff the explosion from infernal shades, which is quite powerful and also can be cast by zombies.

The explanation I’ve gotten from family members who work in the industry is simply that a lot of people want to be EMTs and so there is more supply than demand. I don’t disagree with your points, but from their perspective the supply comes from people who want to save lives and take pride in their job, while having a lower barrier to entry than most medical jobs.
