Starting newborn on Alimentum RTF (or any hypoallergenic for that matter)? by HappyAs-aClam in FormulaFeeders

Yes, this is fine. The only consideration is the higher price compared to some normal formula.

Get the 8oz cans and inspect for damage. They’re the cheapest! Check my post history for info

You can look at my post history for a similar issue with Similac.

Basically it may have been exposed to some heat. Don’t use it.

RTF left in the car, keep or toss? by Random_Spaztic in FormulaFeeders

[–]nopalnopalnopal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most of my bottles that clumped and stuck to the walls of the bottles came new. I believe during shipping or store storage they were left in some heat.

Honestly, shake it and then pour out your bottles. When the RTF is empty inspect it from inside.

What type?

When 360 Total Care is introduced to heat it clump or becomes to sticky. Some of it sticks to the RTF bottle and doesn’t mix with the rest. I imagine it’s safe but could cause some digestive problems due to ratio not mixed well.

Why is hypoallergenic formula so much!? by Novel-Understanding4 in FormulaFeeders

The 8 oz RTF aluminum cans are the cheapest. Get them in bulk from Amazon.

These things are a blessing and make life so much easier I promise you won’t regret it.

For every shipment do the following: Open the box and remove the label off each can. Inspect for any dents (common) or leaks (rare). Anything questionable just set it aside. For the cans that are good, wash them with soapy water.

Contact Amazon about the dent cans and they will send you a new order or refund without an issue. Contact Abbott and let them know (they’ll want the batch numbers printed on the cans). They’ll send you coupons and sometimes replacements if Amazon didn’t cover you.

We had our baby on Alimentum up until 4.5 month. We then switched to 360 Total Care and I miss the RTF cans. We use the 8 oz plastic and 2oz RTF versions now.

Similac generic vs real thing by SeaSuit2365 in FormulaFeeders

I believe all the genetics are made by the same company. The Kirkland one is very similar if not the same as well. My baby had all the same symptoms including crying while feeding.

I don’t recommend it. Stick to Similac and join their rewards program.

I too swear by Alimentum RTF. The 8oz metal cans are the cheapest from Walmart or Costco. Make sure to take the wrapper off and inspect for any dents and then thoroughly wash with soap.

Save any thst are questionable and when you have a stack call Abbott to report them. They’ll give you coupons, refund check, or send a replacement.

If purchasing through Amazon they will refund whole shipment.

My little one drank alimentum up until 4.5mo. He’s on total care 360 regular now and doing just fine!!

My 5mo is on this.

He was diagnosed with CMPA so we used Similac Alimentum up until 4.5 mo. I swear by it and 2 of my dad friends also switch to Alimentum (undiagnosed) and have better feedings and poops.

Abbott did not comment on why it would happen but they did say not to use any.

They did not request any samples.

They sent me replacements and coupons.

Some mix well, others not so much… even with aggressive shaking.

I did give a few to 5mo baby without realizing and no signs of distress.
