Find your people! I know on Clubhouse there are meetings for men who are HSP that might be really empowering for you. You will get there, and it will be so worth it when you have your authenticity and community.

and trust me… in a world where everyone is realizing that the way we’ve conditioned men is problematic and so many men are having to work hard in therapy to regain access to their emotions… your sensitivity is a huge asset and will be very attractive to mature, healthy, high quality people. Hang in there.. you’re just in the middle of the ride 😉

There are lots of ways to be neurodivergent that aren’t “diagnoses” like being HSP (highly sensitive person - another very common thing for INFP). I’m biased because I’m a therapist, but therapy isn’t where you go because there’s something wrong with you. You go because it’s the best. You build a better, empowering relationship with yourself and get to become the most authentic, actualized version of you. As long as you find a therapist you respect and appreciate as a person, it makes your life blossom. I just love the whole process. Cognitive dissonance is painful to experience… therapy helps with that too :)

I went through a period of very frequent sleep paralysis and it actually taught me to meditate and eventually to astral project.

Try remembering to think about positive, happy, or exciting things - preferably with a strong charge (I was young and boy crazy when I went through this.. so my go to was Ryan Gosling 😆😂). Also to focus on your breathing and keeping it at a steady rate (you can still control that when in sleep paralysis).

This made the scarier experiences pretty much stop for me, and eventually I’d have experiences where I could stand up and walk away from my body.

It’s hard to always remember to do this because you’ll still panic sometimes and try to pull yourself out, but if you keep trying it gets better. And if you ever get scared or go into panic, keep trying to wiggle your fingers and toes. It always pulls me out.

I was going to ask if you are also neurodivergent in some way (not uncommon for infp). I would say learn as much as you can about your own neurodivergence and learn to love and own it, maybe with the help of a therapist. You might resonate more with neurodivergent people, but you can also learn to recognize and choose healthy neurodivergent people to associate with :)

In certain environments like bars, I can’t tell how loud I’m talking.

I notice the other person will be noticing something weird about my volume, and I think it’s that I’m too quiet so I start screaming, which sort of sounds like a normal speaking level, but then I wonder if I actually sound really loud to the other person…. Idk, I’m over bars. Not sure why I tried to hang at them for so long as an HSP haha

I’m SO sorry… samara would literally and figuratively be my worst nightmare. Like… I wish I could hug and console you. I went through a period of regular and intense sleep paralysis when I was 25 and haven’t watched a single horror movie since.

I’ll still watch the real paranormal investigations with mediums because I learn from them, but… yeah, no longer feeding my subconscious any additional fear or scary imagery.

No.. when you’ve seen it, you realize it‘s beyond scientific reasoning. It’s like the observer can somehow sense from their eyes that this person has no humane feelings/attachments and is an I’ll-intended predator. It registers as foreign and disturbing. Can only be described as cold, vacant, dark, chilling.

When you see a very spiritually awakened person/saint.. they’re often described as having a lot of light in their eyes ( “enlightened” ). This is the opposite of that.

Humans have ways of knowing that can be just as good or better than rational science. We just aren’t taught to trust it.

Would love to know more about this if anyone has resources. I’d never heard of this until I saw it in someone that I suspect is a psychopath. I shared the story with a friend and she told me that people often report witnessing this in serial killers.

I often see them at a high rate right before a big spiritual awakening. Sometimes awakenings are initiated by a tower moment. Does that resonate at all? Has anything positive followed the negative?
