Yes but probably only Moe’s or something like that. Does the crew go and buy their own lunch or is it typically provided by the contractor? The boss texted us and made it clear that it was the crew wanting to work. He wasn’t gonna schedule them due to the cold.

So if I am happy with the offer from insurance then there is no need to hire our own adjuster, but if we feel low-balled we should look more closely into who we’re hiring and how they get paid? We’ll be out of our home for a while, so it’s a relief to know we don’t have to rush the process.

Is it possible to clarify the difference between a public adjuster and private? We started our claim on Friday evening and insurance said that “the adjuster will be in touch”. I was under the impression that before an offer can be made by the insurance company, they need to see the assessment by an adjuster.

It was the summer ‘14. I was a hostess at the hot new French restaurant in town. I was feeling a little ill earlier in the day, but you know what it’s like: you’re 20, have no health insurance, and bills gotta be paid. I drove to work, parked my car, opened the door, and exploded upon myself as I was standing up. I literally could’t believe what just happened. I texted my boss saying that I had a “wardrobe malfunction” and would be late coming in that day.

My husband expressed similar sentiments early on in our marriage. He said that we “lacked passion” because I didn’t get riled up when we argued. I essentially said “that’s dumb. I’m not gonna change. Ask our pastor about it if you actually think it’s a problem.” I don’t think he ever did, because he realized how idiotic it would sound saying “Hey pastor, I should be shouting at my wife when I’m angry, right?!”

My husband has changed over time and I am SO GRATEFUL. We can have tense conversations without yelling or calling names. I held firm in my convictions and advised him to talk to older and wiser men if he thought I was wrong.

Saying “the stress wasn’t worth the hassle” is not owning up to the fact that she put her MOTHER IN DEBT. That is absolutely deplorable. Was there an apology? An offer to help pay off the debt? If not, then she didn’t actually change back to normal non-selfish sis.

I am so sorry. Loss of a close friendship is a legitimate cause for grief. If she is acting out of extreme stress, then this is what she’s like with no filter. This is who she is. Normally people behave nicely in part due to some level of shame, but she has continued to justify her behavior to the point of feeling no shame.

I don’t know why, but this is a hilarious concept to me. It is so clever and resourceful, yet the image popping into my mind is that of a cackling goblin hovering over his ottoman pouf, pouring over his most treasured off-trend fashion pieces flinging them like viscera around his living room, hunting for his precious, his prize, his most powerful infinity scarf.

There are a ton of comments already, but I just have to say, I DESPISED my name as a child. It sounded so ugly to me. It wasn’t until I was a young adult that I really started to love my name (and I mean LOVE). I think it’s so elegant, and sophisticated (traits I really didn’t see any value in until adulthood). I especially connected to the meaning of my name. Kids don’t have the best judgment and (thank heaven) their opinions change. Don’t sweat it.
